This time of year canned mealworms was my only option. I purchased them from SunCoast and man Fred and Barney love them! They took them out of my hand almost like they do live ones and I am so pleased. The worms have a nice smell and are plump!

I did not see this on the label but once opened the can of mealworms, should I have put the can in the fridge? I have them just stored in their assorted food that I keep in a closed bucket but they do not smell as fresh-not sour but not as fresh?

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

I remember buying the canned mealworms & crickets from pet store to feed my beardie, however, he didn't really like those, and preferred the freeze dried. Anyway, back to the canned, if I remember correctly they were to be refrigerated after opening.

I get my babies the Camillies Vita-mealies freeze dried. I know many prefer the live worms, and I guess some like the canned as well, I haven't tried them.

I looked at her site, Camillies and did not see freeze dried. I will look again!

No worries Claire. All of mine love them, the big ones though, didn't go over well with Ollie.

Trying Camillies tonight and we will see if they love them as much as they love the canned!
