I miss her so badly, especially now with the holidays coming. There are so many thoughts of her running through my mind every single day. I'm loving extra on my other critters, Willow seems to sense my sorrow, but Ollie and Skadoosh don't get it. I have her image of the way I found her embedded in my mind. Every day I look at the spot in the cage, and wonder what happened to my Lulu???

I know the feeling, Tucker has been gone for two years and I still think of him with what if.

I've lost beloved pets in my past, but I always knew it was coming. Well almost always, with the exception of Max, my goldfish. I didn't plan on coming back from vacation to find my mom forgot to feed him. And my first dog, Smokey, who was euthanized while I was at work one day and I didn't know it was going to happen, but I knew she wasn't in good health and that she was failing. But my other pets, Slim & Draco, I knew they were dying. Lulu, I never saw it coming, and I still can't make any sense out how she was when I found her. I miss all of my past babies, I really do, and maybe some of them I could have done better for them. I'll never know, but I missed Lulu's tells, if she had any, so it leaves me wondering if it was some freak accident, but nothing was apparent for that either.

Oh Terry I'm sorry. I know this is tough on you. I don't know the details but I do know that those final looks of a passed pet/loved one even, stick with you. I have a few I wish I could unsee. Holidays do make it harder. I await them and dread them at the same time. We know its time to be with those we are close to, yet someones missing. It's crazy how attached we can get to our pets but oh so understandable. Sometimes I think (or know, tbh) that I like animals soo much more than humans.

I am so sorry for your loss.
They are like shooting stars. They come through our lives just for a moment and light up the darkness...
The only thing we can do is treasure the memories of them, knowing that they will also treasure their memories of us. And in the time between worlds, you will see her again, and it will be as if you were never apart.
They would not want us to be sad, but rather to remember them, forget the pain, and give that love to another, so that they can be uplifted by it as well.

Time will dull the pain, one night you will be going to bed and realize that you didn't cry for them that day. And then for two days...and three.

Thank you TD, I'll keep going, day by day. I know the pain will fade eventually, but I wish I could just understand what took her. I've been spending more time with my family and fur babies since. I actually was just beginning to resume a regular pouch time with my trio just a couple weeks ago before her passing, which means I got in a good pouch cuddle with them, just the day before.
