Around the time I had gotten my 2 girls, my ex decided she would get a glider as well since it was all our daughter would talk about. She has had this glider for 2 years by itself with little human interaction. That's the bad news. The good news is she's a former cage mate of my two girls from the same pet store. I have them beside each other in separate cages and they seem super interested in each other. I'm going to do a proper introduction but I'm hoping it's all smooth sailing.

I guess my question is does anyone have something similar happen? Is 2 years a long time or is there a good chance they remember each other?

I don't have any personal experience with your situation, however, I think things in your favor are they are all females, and they were former cage mates.

It could be she remembers their scents, or it could be she is just lonely.

If re-introductions go amazing, I would say she remembers. Everyone heart a happy reunion wink

Thanks guys I'll keep you updated. So far there has been only what looks positive interactions with them and tonight they seem to have put themselves on the same sleep/play schedule. I might do a tent time tomorrow or Wednesday. I don't want to rush things though because Oatsy is still adjusting to her new home and all the smells.

I was thinking of doing introductions in the morning and the plan was to use the tent but I got to thinking it smells like the other two a lot and I was wondering if that may be an issue?

If you want to lay a fresh blanket down inside, and a few quick swipes of vinegar water on the walls, it will help neutralize.

Well I went into the bathroom for an intro and it went horrible haha. One of my girls climbed in the pouch and attacked the new girl. I didn't see any biting and neither bit me while I was breaking them apart. In fact they came right apart so no one was holding onto the other.
So what I did on the intro and where I think I went wrong is I'd just did a pouch exchange and they were in each other's pouch, well my girls climbed right out of the new girls pouch but I just opened up the pouch Oatsy was in (which belongs to my girls) and laid it in the bath. I think I caused the dispute but no marks on either girl just some shock so I think we're good.

Cool! :thumb2:

Sometimes mine make noises if the other one doesn't announce herself. It's kind of a spit-crab-pfft sound. Mine have also slapped at each other. They just get startled.

OMG so I finally got a good look at Oatsy, she's warming up very very slowly but still bitey... Very very bitey. I don't think her nails have ever been trimmed they're so long. I need to make an appointment with my vet asap and have her gassed and trimmed I don't feel comfortable doing it myself yet.

This is going to be a long journey...

OH but a happy note, when they were done playing this AM Marina crawled into the pouch with her which was fine until I tried putting them away then she crawled right back out hehe.

Continue with pouch swapping, also use small fleece "blankies". I cut special ones as rectangles to prepare my gliders for intros. I place one rectangle fleece in each pouch, for me it was one in my girl's (2 girls) pouch and one in my boy's pouch for a couple of nights. Then I took each rectangle fleece from their pouches and laid them one on top of the other and cut them in half. So I had on square portion from each pouch together to place in the pouches. One set went in my girl's pouch and the other set in my boy's pouch. The fleece squares mingled all three of their scents together while they were in their pouch and hopefully transferred the mingled scent on each other.

Anyway, after doing more scent swapping and mingling/transfer, try the bathtub method again, but have them in their own pouches with mingled-scented blankie and a neutral pouch in between their two pouches.

Also, I did double bonding pouching too. I had Ollie in one bonding pouch and Lulu (RIP) & Skadoosh in another. I wore them both layered side by side (over-lapping), after they were calmed down, I turned the screen windows to face each other and wore them like that for a while. I had a couple of singled layered fleece bonding pouches that I got from EN. They came in handy, though I don't regularly use them, I have better bonding pouches if I carry my gliders with me out anywhere.

OK quick question if they all went to bed in the same pouch with no crabbing or hissing or any signs of aggression, do I have much else to worry about? I assume at some point one of the girls will tell the others whose boss? But other than that anything to really worry about?

That sounds like successful intro. They should be fine, but recommended the first day to keep them on or be near them, also listen out after they are up, especially with feeding. After that, just your regular attention should be enough, unless you hear or see anything wrong.

Yesterday was all success even dinner time. Guess I'll close the book on this one and call the whole thing a success... Now just to bond with her hehe.
