Yay!!! Party here!!!


Today marks 2 completely different occasions... Somewhat bittersweet... Your only warning...

Today, we became glider slaves 3 years ago!!! Fiona, our PP impulse shined a sweet tiny light in our lives, which has grown brighter with each day, month and year!

This wasn't planned or spoken of, but Today is also the birthday of Hubby's late son, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1999. He would have turned 19 this day, so many years ago...

So I have celebrated this day and maybe drove some of you crazy with keeping track sometimes of how many hours, days, months or years since we became glider slaves... I just thought I'd tell you why...

We celebrate happy things, and this time of year is really tough on hubby. But since we brought Fiona home, a smile and a little sparkle in his eyes every time I bring the girls out. He will sit, watch TV, hold Fiona, rub her belly till she goes to sleep... They are his comfort in his time of pain.


Anyway, it's a big deal to celebrate joining the glider madness, and silently missing a loved one...

So appreciate what you have today, tomorrow has never been promised...

The girls apparently got double treats last night... I fed them mealies during a loud thunderstorm, and hubby had them out feeding them mealies after the storm passed...

Thanks for sharing your story, Dawn. I'm so glad that Fiona came to fill at least a tiny piece of the hole in your family left by Nick's passing. Gliders really do bring so much joy.

Congratulations! And I get the bittersweet, a tremendous loss was suffered. I'm very happy to hear that your DH found something to help bring him joy during this time of year, and year around really.
