I just got 2 boys; Apollo and Titan, and well... they smell more than my girls do! Are air fresheners safe to spray in rooms, or will it hurt them? What about candles? Are there any safe solutions that will clean their cage well? I was told a water vinegar solution, any suggestions or comments?

Thanks!

Hi Erin,

Are the boys neutered? If not, I think you will have a stink war on your hands.

I wouldn't recommend a spray or candle.

I would take out most of the fleece except for 2 sleeping pouches. It's easier to wipe the smell away.

I use 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water. Wipe out drip pan daily and cage walls every other day.

If they aren't neutered and in the same room with the girls, the males may start to fight, and will have a contest on marking.

So the person I got the boys from said he took them to get neutered, but the receipts say it was a feline, he said its because they didn't have another thing to write them in as. Is there a way I can check to see if they are?

Thank you for the suggestion! I will try that out!

Unfortunately, I do not have my girls anymore, so now it's just the boys

Our vet at home has our categorized as a rodent... Their computer system is old and they said it would be too much trouble to change...

Being a feline is probably not any better, it's just for their computer records.
