Very soon, hopefully next weekend, Ollie, Lulu, & Skadoosh (as I imagine Hutch ), will be returning to Pirate's Cove where a new adventure will be awaiting them...... I stopped at a thrift store today. I had to get a new computer to use on my new desk that I got to create a workspace for using my computer, but then my computer broke , so I had to get a new computer to use at my new workspace . On my way home I saw a thrift store sign, I didn't realize this store was there before. It's a rather small store, but setup very nicely with lots of stuff. Then I saw the toy area (as sings) which I confess was what I had hoped to find going in there . I found a perfect piece for the Pirate's Cove cage theme . I've glider-safe-proofed it and washed it,and it's now air drying and my intent is to set it up on cage clean day next weekend.

Hoping this works. Just opened Flckr account and trying to share the album O.L.S. Return to Pirate's Cove (lots of pics, sorry so many). If it works and anyone interested in viewing my trio's pirate themed cage, including their arrival (lol), please do so. O.L.S. Return to Pirate's Cove If this doesn't work, please someone let me know. I'll try another method to post some pics if I can. I'm so disappointed in Photobucket now, I don't want to subscribe to them atm.

Your cage set up looks awesome Terry! I was able to see all the pics just fine (even though I don't have a Flickr acct) I like the pirate theme and the skull toy is pretty cool. I bet they all love the change up

Thank you! I'm glad it worked, but I'm still missing the attaching pics right to a post. They seem to like the changes, they love their Noah's arc & tree house for hanging out in/on. When I saw this in the thrift store it was like "YES! They must have this!! Hahaha." It gives one more change to cycle through, & I can use it for Halloween too Anyway, it may even stay in there for a couple weeks or so, even when the pirate theme is out. I usually rotate the other floor toys in there about every 3-4 weeks or so. The only other floor toy that I have for them atm is a castle, it's pretty neat, but it's kept in my storage unit. I run out of space for all our stuff here, and I've been holding on to it for future playroom, if I ever get to give them one.

Thank you Dawn! I spent quite a while working on a pirate theme for my trio's cage. I used to usually set up themed cages, but had gotten out of it for the most part for quite some time. I've been just trying to keep it interesting enough for my babies using pieces from everywhere, lol. Reorganizing my room, including going through their stuff with all the storage changes and a little bit of purging, I was looking at all the toys that have just been sitting around in bags (labeled, most of them), and wanting to try getting back into some theme setups. When I came across the skull in the thrift store, the pirate theme popped into my head, so there you go, got me motivated. For my pirate theme, I had got some pieces specifically here and there and had made some toys, then used bits and pieces from other themes that I thought would go along with the pirate theme, the skull is just the right new addition, I'm grateful I came across it. Some other themes, besides Pirate's Cove I've setup are: Enchanted Wood, Secret Garden, Rainbow Adventure, Tropical Paradise, At The Beach, and a Ladybug Explosion. I've also included add-ons to existing themes like Butterfly Invasion, and Froggy Mania, along with some holiday themes for Easter, Christmas, & Halloween, and of course my Cardinals Football team. I may have forgotten one, but don't think so. The next theme I hope to eventually achieve is a SW desert theme. I haven't been able to find or get just the right pieces as of yet, but still haven't given up hope to one day manage it. Themes setups can be so much fun!

Thank you so much Karen, I used to see a lot of themed cages when I first joined the forum. I see how easy it is to get away from it though, because I had been for so long. Well maybe I threw one together here and there in the past couple of years.
I love designing habitats, I realized how enjoyable it was when I had my pet lizards. It was so much fun creating appropriate, but interesting environments for them. If only money, time and space were no object, lol.
