I am a first time glider owner so I know nothing. I've had my guys for about 2 weeks, mostly watching, talking and some light interaction. A few days ago, while carrying them in a pouch, I sat with my fist in the pouch and they just readjusted themselves and ignored me. Yesterday I tried it again. Jinks started out with a soft nibble which progressed to what seemed like a serious attempt to bite. No crabbing. Was he trying to chase me out? Could he have smelled my lunch on my hands? Second question. Prim was still up when I got up this morning and she sat in the wheel and watched me. I opened the cage and she instantly started pinging around the cage and dove into the sleeping pouch. When she started jumping I shut the door because I didn't know if she would jump out. She didn't seem to be jumping at me but she was moving so fast I couldn't really tell. Why would she do this?

When doing fist time, it's a good idea to wash your hands with unscented soap.
Yeah they do try to bite, but can't really get a good latch. Are you ready for the next step? Yes they are ignoring you.
The 'pinball" Effect could be a couple of things. I like to think they are getting "ready to go ". Ya know, in the pouch so they can easily be taken out without having to be caught.
The other idea is they were just startled. I still talk to mine and let them know what I'm about to do. After a greeting of course.
Dawn Be patient, and Trust your journey.... Grace Ruby Mom Fiona, Dot, Stewie and Dad Wish I could turn back time... Miss you all...
