Hello!
My 4 year old female glider (Bella) is losing the hair on her back and under her neck. I don't know if she is pulling it out from stress or if it is falling out. She has been by herself for the past three months after her female cagemate (they had been together for over 3 1/2 years) began attacking her. There is a neutered male as well but he wasn't aggressive with Bella. I have made several attempts to re-introduce them but my other female (Remmi) chases and attacks Bella. They have had their veterinarian exams with fecals and I took Bella back in for a re-examination where they did another fecal and a skin scrape to rule out mites. All of her tests came back clear, but he went ahead and gave her a shot of antibiotics just in case it's a staff infection (which he really didn't think it was). She eats and drinks just fine, she goes to the bathroom normally, she runs around and plays normally and now that she's alone I give her extra time out for playroom time in the evenings. Her diet has not changed. Has anyone else dealt with this problem?

I can't answer your question, but we have been experiencing something similar. And this question has come up a lot recently.
I'm curious if weather /season changes are happening. I know gliders don't shed, but maybe spring has sprung and nature has made our critters a bit our wee ones a bit giddy and anxious.
My girls are squabbling a bit in their pouch, and their tails have thinned. But no other hair loss. I'm hoping veteran slaves can maybe elaborate a bit on this.
As far as your females not getting along, maybe the more aggressive female needs time out from the group instead.

I'm with Dawn on this one, if Remmi is the one with the problem it shouldn't be Bella that suffers. I'd encourage you to put Remmi in the time out cage until she feels like getting along with the rest of the colony. My two cents for whatever that may be worth to you.

I do agree that Remmi is the one who should be getting the "time out", but Bella has always been somewhat food aggressive (I had three food stations in the cage)as well as overweight. Even though my male(Boo) was a good weight and in great health, he was the smallest (& the least aggressive)of the three.
I chose to leave Boo with Remmi to see if I could put a little weight on him as well as get a little weight off of Bella.
Boo is now the same size as Remmi. Bella has lost a bit of weight and her confidence in leaping (gliding) long distances has returned.
I am still quite baffled by her hair loss. While the hair appears to be growing back; it is still thin.
