Got up from a long nap just now, and grabbed a cup of coffee...
Getting ready to work on my Stardew Valley farm, and maybe Defend the Galaxy from the Dark God for a while in Starcraft Two, and I notice that Athena is alone in the cage.
She's not even in the normal pouch...she's in a little hammock.
So I pull out the hammock and stick my hand in there...
CRAB CRAB CRAB <Lunge> <Bite>

(Athena is a strange youth. She seems to have a slow time realizing who I am. Once she recognizes me, she calms down and gets lovey.)

I start out by setting the mood to "Happy" by offering her a yogi. She takes it in her little hands and eagerly eats the whole thing all by herself.

Surprisingly, she comes out of the pouch and onto the coffee table. Tentatively at first, and then with growing confidence she starts to sniff around the table.

The dogs of course are on high alert and eager to butt-sniff the the new baby. She actually walks to the edge of the table and reaches out to sniff their noses.
Of course as I bring the camera up, their 'Camera Sense' alerts them that Daddy Tree is about to take awesome video, and the whole scene dissolves. :-(

She crawls up my arms..over my back...sniffs inside my ear...

...she's tolerating me petting her...

And then she decides, "Well I guess I am all grown up now."

So she walks to the edge of the coffee table and flying face hugs Charlie.

A geometrically PERFECT flying face hug: Nose between the eyes, all four feet dug in symmetrically, butt perfectly centered, tail straight down the snout.

(Perfect 10s from all judges!)

She then starts to dig and sniff around in his fur. He is slowly turning his head back and forth as she grabs at his ears.
Eventually she walks down his back, with Chelsea trying to horn in for a butt sniff) Charlie is trying to worm around and see what is happening on his butt.

Athena then tries to jump back to the coffee table--misses and lands on the floor between the two dogs. Fearlessly, she walks over to the new desk and starts exploring.

Frisby, apparently has heard some of this going on and comes down from upper storage (we call it the Playhouse). She starts searching the cage for Athena. Eventually, when she can't find Athena, she starts barking.

But Athena got the keys to the car from Daddy Tree...and she's stayin' out ALL NIGHT. Her fear and joey-like timidness just turned off like a switch.

<sniff> They grow up so fast.

Time to round everyone up for treat time...
