Hello everyone.

I am looking into owning 2 female gliders. I am a college student so I still live at home with my parents. I did all my research, but my only concern is how noisy they are/can be at night. I would keep them in my bedroom. Their noises wouldn't really bother me, but I wouldn't want them disturbing my parents or younger sister who are next door and down the hall. I read several posts online and some say they are really loud and others say they are quiet. I was just wondering how your gliders are at night?

Thank you for your help!

I do not believe that they should disturb anyone in another room. For the most part the noise comes from play and moving about the cage, sometimes barking and fussing. With a quality, sturdy cage, a decent glider-wheel it shouldn't be that bad for the most part.

I personally have my gliders in my room and am rarely disturbed by them. When I'm awake, I actually enjoy hearing them out. Occasional arguments and barking are less bothersome to me now that I'm divorced and do not have to worry about XH being disturbed.

I had origianally had my girls in a room next to my bedroom and could barely hear them, and not at all disturbing my slumber. Also, I've had my gliders in my room being next to other's bedrooms (recent & current living arrangements) and there have not been any complaints on their noise. Their cage is and has always been located at adjoining walls to the other rooms as well, so you could take extra precautions and place them on a wall not adjoining an occupants room.

I'm a very light sleeper, so my two gliders are in the living room instead of my bedroom. I do hear them quietly running around playing if I keep my door open, but I only hear the occasional barking from my very vocal little girl when the door is closed.

I have neighbors on the other side of the wall from my gliders cage, but they say that they've never heard any barking or other noises from the gliders. You shouldn't have any big problems with noise. smile
