Good Morning,

I am very concerned i have just gone to do my night feed and discovered one of our two sugar-gliders seems to have been bitten by something and reacted from it?

It is severely puffed out and is basically hobbling around, its eating fine but its struggling to chew and swallow by the looks of it.

They are 6 years old and we have never ever had a biting problem with them so i doubt they have been fighting, and you can see clearly some sort of puncture more than a bite mark, its lost hair all around it, its on the right hand side of the wing and basically covers the whole right hand side of the wing/leg outside body.

We have a cat, but its a Mainecoon and as such is extremely tame and is never phased by hampsters or the sugargliders or geckos or anything small we have had, when we get them out in the front room, he will just lay there and watch them, plus he wouldnt be able to reach the bottom of the cage, and in all honesty due to the size of him and his claws the sugarglider wouldnt of lived.

Also im based in England in the UK and our vet's dont have much of a idea on sugargliders as it is yet alone something like this, very worried please help!

Sorry, just another bit of possible vital information? the cage is right next to the back door, basically right in-front of it, maybe something had got in when the dogs came through the dogflap? i'm not sure but the actual wound which is around 3MM high and wide (it doesn't seem to go too deep)

That glider needs to see a vet ASAP. If you click on the word vet it will take you to the veterinarian database. The database has a list of veterinarians that will consult with other vets.

Print that list out and take it with you.

Thanks for your prompt reply, unfortunately it is 3am here and no-where is open, I will look at this first thing in the morning, it would only literally of happened at the maximum of a day ago, I am still very confused as the two of them squabble a tiny bit but never ever anything malicious, looking close up it seems like a puncture from a spider bite or something more than anything... I am worried and I think I'll be sleeping on the sofa in the front room tonight with them, meh that's if I can even get any sleep!!, I have work at 8am luckily my boss is highly lieniant and will let me do what I've got to do...

Also on a further note, should I attempt to clean? They have never bitten, only tasted and never ever even do that anymore, but she seems cautious when I'm near that spot and can't see her liking it very much
