Hi guys,
I'm hopefully getting my first sugar glider in a week or so (don't worry, she will get a cage mate in the beginning of january). I have the cage set up etc, but I have a few questions regarding bonding pouches.

When is a good time to start using them? She will get at least a couple of days just to get to know her new cage and surroundings etc, but how soon do you begin with tent time and bonding pouches?

Also another question, I have a few christmas tea parties to attend in the upcoming weeks, could I take her with me in a pouch or would she be better off, just staying at home?

How big of a travel cage would she need to be in, if I decided to stay at one of the casual tea "parties" till the next day?

You can start right away, just go along at his or her pace. I would do bonding pouch for a couple weeks before you start tent time.

Well someone needs to feed him or her every night. I would take him or her along, specially if your going to stay the night. If it gets too loud you could put him or her in a quiet room and close the door (not loose)LOL. Here is a link to what we use for traveling: https://www.walmart.com/ip/5192525?wmlsp...13=&veh=sem We use the large or extra large kennel

Good Luck with your little one.

I use the kennel like described above by Kim once we reach our destination.

Depending on how long and time of day you travel, You can keep them in their bonding pouch for like a 1 -3 hour trip during the day with an apple slice or seedless grapes as a snack / drink.

We travel a lot so we have a small cage that measures 12" × 12 × 7" that their sleeping pouch hangs in. (It actually a glidarium travel size). With apple slices or halved seedless grapes, ours can travel 8 hours during the day.

The one thing I like about this particular cage, is if they get too warm, they will crawl out of their pouch and curl up under their pouch on cut up fleece squares I provide them. They sleep usually the whole trip.

I hope this helps.

And they're okay with travelling even though they probably won't be very bonded yet?

Yes, just take their stinky sleeping pouch along so they have a familiar smell in the travel cage.

Thanks everybody! smile
I ended up buying a huge foldable travel cage (100x70x70 centimeters), so everything is soon up and ready for them to come home :D
