well i have the baby glider that was orphaned it has been 5 days today, and he is 15 days oop, the mom died when he was 10 days out of pouch, i have been feeding him puppy milk, right now he weighs 8.9 grams, is that about right or is he not gaining any weight? i am feeding him every 1 and a half hours til i see his tummy is full, and about when should i expect his eyes to open?
if this is not right what can i do?

Here is a link that should help you from Pet Sugar Gliders. This is a guide and not exact weights as all joeys are different.

Hopefully he will be okay. I'm sorry I don't have any experience with rejected joeys. I would make the change in the formula over the next several feedings watching close to see if there are any adverse reactions.

When you stimulate the little fella to use the bathroom, be sure to watch for unusual loose stools.

ETA: If you have been mixing your formula from another size, such as Suz's, continue to use that one. Don't change. If you were simply mixing it wrong, that is different.

Weigh your little one at the same time every day, use that as a guide to him or her gaining weight.

Not every joey weighs the same coming OOP or growing from that stage on.

Is the joey with the daddy? How are you keeping the joey warm if he isn't with the dad?

You are going to want to set up a incubator, the instructions are on Suz's site, I wouldn't put a container of water in there, but a wet washcloth as he or she will need humidity.

Please keep us posted on your little one's progress.

Quote:
2) Using the misting spray bottle, spray one washcloth with water, then lay it on the bottom of the tank at the end where the heating pad is located. This will keep the incubator humid so your joey does not get dry, flaky skin. The washcloth will need to be freshly sprayed with water every 4 - 6 hours. The humidity level of the incubator should be kept between 30 - 35%.

Yes...incubator. Must have.
There are also some affordable out of box solutions on Amazon. I picked up one for 65 bucks that I am very pleased with.
