At 11:11pm I went to start some playtime with Justin and Frisby.
And they were already having playtime with their NEW JOEYS

I guess I was wrong about that thee weeks. One is a female--13 grams. The other I haven't got hold of yet. Both appear healthy.

I knew something was up--I thought they might just be complaining about having to nest in my old sweatshirt--while I tried to get the laundry machines to work--to finish drying their cage sets
They stayed buried in the sweatshirt all day making strange noises. Not quite crabbing, not quite chirping...not quite hissing. A continuous warble..
Like Donald Duck trying to cover "You've Lost the Lovin' Feeling".
I guess this is the birth singing I have been reading about.

Anyway I went to take my sweatshirt back tonight and WOAH!!! You guys aren't due for another three weeks, I thought!
So far no signs of rejection...I really really really hope we don't have a rejection.
Gave mom and dad some special dinner treats--fruit, honey...extra chicken.

I think you were hearing their "song". Momma sings to her babies. I watched it on utube.

Almost wants me to experience this. But hubby says two is enough

Finally got both of them away from Momma at the same time. It's one boy, one girl, 14 and 13 grams respectively.
Their eyes aren't open yet, but they are strong and squeaky.

I think it's safe to say at this point that these two are both Leu colored like their parents.
Been thinking about names...was going to go with Bernard and Bianca...but my motorcycle is already named Bianca...

Assuming they both live...I will need to find a vet in Arizona or NM to do a neuter on Justin. I'll get him stoned out of his mind on eucalyptus and mealies, and tell him we are going to the zoo.
