I was distraught over this and thought I would share and maybe help clear things up for other newbies. I'm not considered a newbie anymore but felt like one in August of this year... OSGA is the Ohio Sugar Glider Adventure conference held in April(I think). SGGA is the Sugar Glider Get Away held end of July (?) Both of these events are a really big deal if you are a sugar glider slave and/ or enthusiast. Especially if you want to connect with others that have the same interest. And learn from the experts face to face. They have guests who talk about new information on gliders and vendors too. A kind of social gathering that crosses over all internet boundaries. Anyone can come. (Did I get this right? Did I miss something?) I couldn't make the OSGA, and for some reason I thought both conferences were one in the same. Until I realized the dates and places were different. (I feel like a total idiot!) Feather is hosting the SGGA next year, and come help or high water, we are planning to be there. You are on my calendar... Plus I want to see LA Crosse, WI. Our boss says it's worth the trip! So, are there any other significant gatherings that I have missed or should consider? Thank you guys for your tolerance in this matter and I am sorry for not doing my research and being an idiot... I will ask questions and try harder in the future...

Dawn, Please don't feel bad about this mistake. Unfortunately, there just aren't as many posts made about events as there used to be once the initial announcement is made. I suppose this is because the large events have their own web pages or fb page so posting here isn't like it used to be
Yes, the SGGA is always the last Saturday in July. 2017 will be hosted by our own Feather ( posted here ), so my guess is there will be more information on this forum
The OSGA, I believe, is in April, and it is posted in Special Events as it was this year here .
All Glider Gatherings are posted in Special Events but fewer and fewer are posted as there are not many (that I know of) that are national gatherings. There are regional gatherings and smaller, but I'm not sure how those are announced. At one time even smaller gatherings were posted in Special Events.
I will discuss with Kim and Phil how we might better set up a way for members to post their gatherings to get the word out while keeping the threads updated and active.

Dawn, It would be so great to meet you. Another big gathering is the OGG which was just held in Ohio last weekend It is the Ohio Glider Gathering. OGG is more of a family reunion type gathering, I am not sure if they have any informative talks like at the OSGA (which is hosted by Shelly and is where you get the major updates about the diet studies that Shelly is fundraising for)or the SGGA (which is the big one that has been going on for 18 years now and is considered the big one, I believe there were over 150 people in attendance this year and over 1/3 were there for their first SGGA.)
Kimberley Feathers-Sweetie, Mister Peanut & Big Mack Fur-Guinan, Mr. Spock, T'Mir, Cho, Toothless, Maverick & Maharet T'Pol, Elizabeth & Curzon TY, TJ, Light Fury, Madison & T'Pring Forever in my heart, Gizmo, Tucker, Khayman and the rest of my babies over the

Thank you Karen and Kim! I suppose I will browse the calendar more often. Since we travel, I should take advantage when we might be in that area.
It would be great to know more of what happens regionally too!
I will do some digging see what or if I find anything else.

more people were involved in hosting these events from different states in the past. I'm sure alot of it has to do w/finances. so,there aren't as many. I haven't gone to an SGGA yet, either. I do hope I can work it out to come to Wisconsin, just need to hit up someone that's going & looking for roommate(s). they have been interesting, informative,& fun. And I've found the vendors make stuff that is better than what you can buy in any store.
