Sugar gliders in general sleep about 20 hours in a 24 hour period. The other 4 hours they are not up continuously, but up and down with naps in between. Really? Wow, then I think I have four insomniacs. (Maybe they get that from their slave.) Mine seem to be active for a cumulative 5-6 hours over a 9-10 hour period most days. I say cumulative because, like you said, they're up & down in 1-2 hour blocks. It also seems to vary depending on how much I'm around. It might be that the four are just so staggered that it seems that way. I'll have to pay more attention now. Arthur (my laziest) I'd say is closer to 4 cumulative hours, but he is the last to rise, first to retire, & takes the longest naps... & could stand to loose a few grams. Correlation? Hmmm...
