So. I took Delta to the vet a couple weeks ago because I caught him hissing while he peed. At first, I thought he was doing . . . Something else because he was rubbing against the cage bars during the hissing. After some research I found out Thu something else is very different & that he probably had a uti. At the vet, he got an ultrasound to check for crystals, the vet felt around, said nothing was damp, everything felt & looked fine. The only relatively new thing was his salad. I thought maybe I hadn't washed it well enough & so every night added a thawing rinse to my routine. Meanwhile I only caught him hissing that ONE time & the vet gave me some "just in case" meds. Everything seemed fine. Then he hissed a couple days ago, I THINK while he was peeing. I found the frozen veggie recall list on here & stopped giving him the salad. But that list was posted on May 2nd. I bought my veggies at least a week after. Would Walmart leave recalled veggies on the shelf? Could Delta have another uti? OR is it possible he never had one? Most of the time he pees, he doesn't hiss. And I'm not entirely sure every time he hisses, he's peeing. He just hissed softly from inside his pouch & he doesn't pee in his pouch. Also, I looked up & could see him fidgeting in the pouch. The one time prior to the meds that I see him hiss & pee,he was pretty still except for itching himself in the bars of the cage gently. What is that hiss?? Should I take him in again? Most stuff I read says hissing can be strain or communication. And that strain doesn't always mean pain. So confused. And a little nervous that I don't know what's going on.

Is he neutered?
If not he may have been marking the cage if he was rubbing his butt while dribbling pee. You will see some females do it too.

He will mark the cage also, but it won't smell as pungent. It could be him making that noise while he is smelling things up.
