I have decided to keep the cage that came with my girl as her temporary cage, but I would really like to add a bottom wire cage portion to the bottom. Currently, the drip pan IS the bottom. Needless to say, I can't pull it out when my glider is in the cage!

The bottom dimensions are 32" x 20.75". What I'm thinking is if another cage company sells replacement bottom grates and have one with the same dimensions, that would be the easiest route to take. But otherwise, does anyone have any ideas on how I could add a bottom grate?

Here's a picture of the cage:

You could pick up one or two of THESE get someone to cut them to length. I would put clear nail polish on the ends so they don't rust and then zip tie into place as a great.

People have made whole cages out of these shelves.

Kimberley, what do you think of using this? Someone suggested it:

That is a solid panel and it will not allow the droppings to fall through.

The closet shelves you could put on top of the drop pan in the cage and then the gliders are not playing in their droppings.

If you measure carefully for the dimensions you need for the closet shelving, any home improvement store will cut them for you at no cost. You don't need to buy the most expensive they have since they won't be used for hanging clothes.
