What makes GliderCENTRAL what it is? One simple answer: the members. Without the members GC has, we would not be the board we are. I have seen time and time again the selfless acts performed by people here. I have seen the way the entire community comes together to help an owner or a sugar glider. The people here care. All of your hearts are huge and your passion for sugar gliders is endless and for that, I love you all.
I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that no matter how much we think we know about sugar gliders, there is always something to learn. That's why I'm a member! We were all new owners at one time or another and we all asked questions that people here had answered time and time again. We made mistakes, we grew, we learned as much as we could. Every member here is in some part of that process whether they joined five minutes ago or five years ago.
With that said, let's give respect to our fellow members. This forum is here to help educate...for the good of the glider. We are here to give advice, make suggestions, answer questions, give support, and generally help fellow sugar glider lovers. We do not want anyone to feel afraid to post, do we? We want to offer a sympathetic ear and help out, right? Put yourself in their shoes. They have a glider that is sick, injured, acting funny, etc. They need help. They are scared for their glider. What they need is people who show they care for not just the glider, but for them. They need our support and yes, that's for the good of the glider too.
We need to remind ourselves of our motto, "For the Good of the Glider", each time we post. This community is so full of so many caring people and sometimes, we let our emotions get the best of us. It's okay to be emotional! I get so worried about some gliders on GC that I lose sleep. Just try not to let it influence the way you respond to a post here. Take a minute to remember when you were new and realized that caring for a glider involved a lot more than snuggling a cute ball of fluff, or when your glider suddenly became ill, or maybe when your glider was injured. What type of advice would you have wanted? How would you want people to respond to you?
Let's make GliderCENTRAL all it can be! Let's all pull together to fulfill our motto, FOR THE GOOD OF THE GLIDER!

I am w/ya on that, also! Icons could really help to,this way everyone can see the reply being posted,to show how each persons mindset is to the questions members have. I don't know if I'm making any sense.

As a new person here, THANK YOU for posting this! I was so grateful to the help and support I recieved when I first joined GC. I must admit that lately I've felt somewhat shunned when posting - like I don't belong here. I am sure that's not the case and it's probably my overactive imagination and paranoia getting in the way. All of you have been very nice and helpful and I mean no disrespect by that statement - I only mean to illustrate my point. But I, for one, deeply appreciate this post and offer many thanks for this and for all your help and support over this last year! My babies are doing great and I truly believe it's due in part to the wonderful information I've gotten from all of you outstanding folks here at GC! Thank you again!

I'm glad you all appreciate this post.
I think GliderCENTRAL is a great place for so many reasons. It's not easy being a new member joining a forum where so many people know others already. The last thing we should want to do with someone coming here to be educated is chase them away. I know some people get defensive and that can make giving advice difficult, but there are still good ways to approach that situation. Think about what would be best for the gliders in these types of situations. It always helps me keep a clear head.
I just want everyone to love GC as much as I do!

What a wonderful post I'm certaily glad that I found this forum during my research for sugar gliders. Everyone had helped answer my questions from food to bonding to anything else I may ask and everyone has been so nice! I'm a member of a couple other forums and this has to be my favorite thanks to the people on it
