Very cute Vona! I wish I was AT ALL crafty, but I'm terrible at making stuff, so I just shell out MASS amounts of money and have vendors like you all make stuff for me lol!

@katieBodn - I love your tree. I'm sure your fuzzies are going to love it. It kind of reminds me of something you would see on the cartoon "wow wow wubbzie".

Ok - So my first attempt isn't as imaginative as yours...but it seemed to pass inspections!

I love these!

Where are you finding the ball with holes (first pic) and the 'swirly' limb (second pic)?

The ball you speak of is called an O Ball.

The 'swirly' thing looks to be electrical cord, like is used in 'Toy Around' found here:

A couple more toys....and my first attempt at a jungle gym of sorts. I wanted the gym to be something I can constantly change and move into new shapes for tent time. I couldn't figure out a way to completely cover it with fleece shakehead but they managed to jump, climb, and run anyway!

Re: Home-Made Toys (Part 3)! - 05/10/11 07:46 PM

Awesome! One question, how do you get holes in the little plastic cups?
Posted By: Gizmogirl

Re: Home-Made Toys (Part 3)! - 05/10/11 08:19 PM

You can use a soldering iron to make the holes. thumb

I don't have a soldering iron - One of these days!

But I was able to use a small drill bit and going slowly with basically NO pressure you can make the holes. I cracked a few before I got the hang of it, but for $1 for 24 glasses....no harm! smile

Re: Home-Made Toys (Part 3)! - 05/11/11 09:24 PM

I use a Dremmel tool and I like the higher speed... it kind of melts thru it instead of drilling it.

Sorry I didn't see this until now lol guess it's better late than never...we found the balls with the holes at walmart in the novelty section...and the swirly limb we made...it's pvc pipe heated and swirled. smile We screwed it to the wall for more stability for the tree. Hope this helps...
