Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/24/06 08:06 PM

I just wanted to let whoever cares know that at Walmart, in the Easter section there is a plastic eggful of bunnies, that is just like the barrel of monkeys except they are bunnies(with really long ears)and are only $2.00 versus the $4.95 the monkeys are(at least at my walmart) I got 4 eggs...the babies love them just like the monkeys!

I've read about the B O M's quite a few times now on GC and am always wondering exactly how the gliders play with them? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />
I thought I'd finally break down and ask. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinkerg.gif" alt="" />

My babies pass the monkies between cages, they also try to get them, unhung from the top. THey carry them around try to feed them. And they just love them.
I am going to wally world to get me some bunnies with my 10% discount I will be getting lots. I cant wait my babies are onna pass bunnies.
If you look between the cages here you will see the monkies. Joon and Stitch were passing them. THis is Stiches way of welcoming new comers to the family.lol

That's amazing to me Sissy. I just don't see any of my 4 doing that with them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
I do picture myself just picking them up off the cage floor though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
I guess the bunnies do sound cute though. I might stop in to get an egg or two. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/24/06 09:06 PM

I just got Tinky some Monkeys about 2 weeks ago. I haven't actually seen her play with them, but I see evidence <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> ! I will hang them around the cage, or sometimes stick a treat on one end of one and hang it somewhere. Usually in the morning, the treat is gone & if I hung a chain, they're scattered about. Also, I've noticed the tiniest little bite marks on a few of them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yelclap.gif" alt="" /> Tinky doesn't play with much of anything in front of me just yet, I think it's just because were still getting used to each other <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/gliderangel.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 04:22 AM

Okay, I need your help. I made a special trip just to go to WalMart, to look for these eggs full of bunnies, and didn't find them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worried2.gif" alt="" /> Could someone post a picture so I can see exactly what I'm looking for, or so I can print it out to ask the folks at the store? They had lots of eggs, of course, but they were empty or chocolate. And they had lots of bunnies, but they weren't in eggs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 04:36 AM

I went last night and after about 30 minutes of searching the store, I found them. They were in the Easter section where the Easter toys are and pretty hidden. I don't have a picture to put up but it is a large egg, clear on one side and solid colored on the other (pink, aqua, yellow, etc.) with a white band on it that has the price 2.00. They are adorable and the bunnies are different colors too. Hope this helps some. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 04:56 AM

*sigh* It does help a bit, with the details of the color scheme. I looked up and down the Easter aisle at least three times, on each side, looking at every item on every shelf. When you say "large" egg, how big? 5"? About how big are the bunnies in the egg? And about how many bunnies? And are they flat, like a guitar pick, or slightly shaped, like the monkeys in the barrel? Anyone else able to post a picture?

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 05:43 AM

Oh, heavens! You know, I specifically looked, and only saw the pic of the monkey being passed between cages. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to me, razarra! Thanks for posting the pic, too, Sissy! Back to Walmart I go tomorrow!! Not that my spoiled little babies need anything more, and not that they would be upset if they didn't get these goodies (what they don't know, you know)... But it sure seems like something they'd enjoy tossing on their cage floor! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 06:02 AM

I found the bunnies today too. They were in a box and took me awhile to find them since there was a bunch of junk piled on top of them - the Easter isle was a mess - lol. They only had 6 left so I took them all <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I've already seen Mouser attack his tonight - too cute!!

Ooooooooo! I have got to get my hands on some of those, so my gliders can get their paws on them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> hehe!

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 01:57 PM

When I found them and went to check out, I had those and the plastic easter eggs... The cashier said, "oh, you're smart, getting an early start on Easter. Most everything is gone by the time it gets close." I just looked at her, smiled and said, "these aren't for my kids, they're for my critters" LOL, she said, "Well, I've never heard that one before, buying Easter toys for animals." <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/roflmao.gif" alt="" />

I hope everyone that wants some can find them!

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 02:44 PM

Hehe, I never see my kids play with the monkeys either, but I know that they do - I also find evidence. I DO sometimes see them knocking the monkeys down, but that's about it. When Alistair got neutered and they were separated for a few days, he carried his monkey in the pouch to sleep with him. That's the only time I've ever seen them do it. It broke my heart. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/muchlove.gif" alt="" />

My guys had them all at the bottom of the cage. I pooped out <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/sleep.gif" alt="" /> early so I don't know exactly if or how they played with them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />
None were in the pouch or hidden anywhere. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
They'll be back in there tonight. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/26/06 03:18 PM

I don't always see mine play with them...sometimes I do, if I walk in at the right time... but when they see me they always stop what they are doing to see if Mom's gonna come play with them, and they hang out watching me... so usually I don't actually get to see them playing, lol... but in the tent(I put an egg in there too) they played with them, I would put one on my leg, and they attack it... I pulled Cambrin's out from under the cage before going to bed last night, and put them in the egg... the egg is upside down and the bunnies are scattered all over the bottom of the cage... I think he plays with one and when it gets stuck, he moves on to the next one..lol..and so on until they are ALL stuck in the bottom of the cage...

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/27/06 05:15 AM

I know you're all dying for an update. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> I went to a WalMart Super Center, and they had the eggs with bunnies, on two different aisles. They had three aisles (or six, each side) of Easter goodies (not just one like at the store I went to earlier). I felt like I hit the jackpot. So of course, I picked up, uhm, more than a couple, so I can enjoy them, and my secret pal can, too. Maybe several secret pals into the future! Thanks, everyone, for sharing the news of this great find and for taking me by the hand directly to the aisle where they are. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 02/27/06 05:03 PM

I got them yesterday at CVS, if anyone can't find them at Walmart...Gizmo's favorite toy in the world are his monkies, so I was excited to see what he'd do with the bunnies! I hung them all over his cage, just like I do the monkies (and of course found cute spots for all his monkies to go too) and he WENT TO TOWN! Carrying them around in his mouth, dragging them into his hiding places, actually FLINGING them clear across his cage....he has no shame or fear he'll play right in front of me lol....in fact, usually when he jumps out onto my arm for tent time, a monkey is along for the ride, so we'll see if he brings a bunny one of these times!

I, too, hung them all over the cage, and this morning found them all over the cage floor and in their food kitchen. As I was hanging them they were stretching on their hind legs to swat at them. They definitely had fun with them!

Mine dont put things in their pouches either but my male glider did knock a lot of them down, they were all on the cage bottom the next morning so it looked as if he had fun.

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 03/13/06 10:02 PM

Yes, they are $1.99 at CVS, same or almost the same price as at Walmart...I also got at Walmart this game called Tower of Bunnies...it comes with 38 (yes 38 exactly I think) bunnies that are about an inch and a half tall that you put on these discs, all tiered one on top of the other....imagine something like a wedding cake with bunnies as each layer and a disc on top of each layer of bunnies...so I set them all up in his cage and it appears Gizmo has grown quite fond of these new additions...I find them EVERYWHERE, although he hasn't managed to drown or suffocate them in his food and water dish as he does his barrel of monkies and eggful of bunnies guys....we have a little moment of silence whenever we find a bunny or monkey in Gizmo's water, poor thing.............

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 03/24/06 10:44 PM

I was in Walmart last night and for some reason turned down the easter isle. And there they were! They had at least 8 boxes of them. I had to get one of each color. I will never ever run out of bunnies! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cloud9.gif" alt="" />

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 03/25/06 12:27 AM

I finally got some at WallyWorld as well. I found all of them at the bottom of the cage - like in the tray because they fit through the slats on the bottom. Is this normal? Do you have to pick them out of the tray every morning? Still haven't found any in the pouches. Are my gliders just boring?
Posted By: KattyM

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 03/25/06 12:46 AM

Yes, I think it's normal. I have to pick my bunnies out of the bottom of the cage where they fall through the slats. I don't think your gliders are bored. If they were, your bunnies would still be hanging in a string as you left them. That's my guess, at least!
Posted By: SweetestShampoo

Re: Barrell of Monkeys/eggful of bunnies - 03/26/06 06:42 PM

i wish my glider liked the monkeys. he pays absolutly no attention to them ever. the only times they get knocked down is when he's busy jumping around and accidently knocks one over.
LOL I think my little guy is the most boring glider ever when it comes to toys. He's not interested in ANYTHING! The only time i can get him to be interested is when I jiggle the 'fishing pole' cat toy at him.
I don't leave it in his cage for fear that he could detatch and swallow the feathers.
=p I wish he'd like his barrel of monkeys and other toys more!

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/offtopic.gif" alt="" /> Actually it does. Walmart bought out ASDA a chain of UK supermarkets in 1999 and has opened up a number of ASDA/Walmart Super Centers since then. There are only a few of the actual Super Centers in the UK, but knowing Walmart I am sure they are spreading. The regular ASDA stores do sell some Walmart products though, unfortunately not an egg full of Bunnies though.

Yes KattyM sent me some, I hung them round the cage but they took no notice then Katty said to hang them in a chain and Pacha now grabs at the chain and plays with them till I pick them all up for him again!!
