NEW HAMPSHIRE - 10/25/05 12:55 PM

Hi everyone........I am in Middleton, NH which is just North of Rochester........looking to see who everyone uses for their Gliders? I do know of a couple very good vets, but they are aprox. an hour away and in an emergency that may be too far

I use the Milton Vet Clinic in Milton, NH or Broadview in Rochester (They are owned by the same vet) for our dogs not sure that they are true exotic vets or not......maybe a phone call is in order

BYE!

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 08/26/06 03:35 PM

Hello!
The vet in Salem does NOT treat gliders any longer, I called them when I was looking at getting gliders. And the vet in MA, I do not think I would want to use them as Gliders are illegal in MA.

In Rochester, NH my vet......Broadview Animal Hospital, does have an Exotic Vet, he also is co-owner of this practice......he however has to date never neutered a glider (as there is really none is this area except for mine) he is going to be doing my two boys. He is very open minded and will do the neuter how it is recomended to do so on GC.
There is also an Exotic Vet in Concord, NH.....Fisherville Animal Hospital.....they charge $135.00 to neuter gliders.

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 08/26/06 06:25 PM

Thanks for the updated info. I wont need the neutering since Im getting girls, but Im sure it helpful to others.
Good info.

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 08/30/06 01:50 AM

Hi everyone, I've been on this site for a few weeks now, and have yet to say hello to my "neighbors" so Hi I'm from Pelham, NH... still don't have any gliders yet, but soon hopefully.

Granite State Gliders referred me to a vet in Plaistow... I forget what his name was, but the breeder told me that he neuters for around $70.

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 08/30/06 12:48 PM

Hi Kate!

Rochester here! If you could find the info out about that vet it would be great!

Wait until you do get your first gliders....but, fair warning....they are like pringles....you can't stop at 2! LOL

We are planning another glider get together for the Northeast so keep watching the Special Events section!!

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 08/26/07 04:33 AM

I'm not in NH but I'm "just south of the border" and have no place to post on here! I'm literally 15-20 minutes away from NH though so if I need to take them to a vet, I'll be heading north! I'm in Westford MA. I have 2 suggies, a grey male (Scrat, he has one eye!) and buttercream female (Scarlet). Scarlet has twins IP and they should be coming OOP in another week or so. These are MY first joeys as I got both gliders as adults but Scarlet has had joeys successfully prior to me adopting her.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi! Hope you are all well!

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 05/24/13 05:41 AM

Resident of Hudson, NH here!

:grey: :grey:
Cable and Cabbit.

I got my boys from Granite State Gliders: Tina there has been very helpful in answering my questions as an amateur owner, and their online store has great prices. They handle the adoption process very professionally, and they even do their own neutering!

A few months ago, my Cable had an accident in which he somehow managed to knock over a large vase (it was probably 100 times his weight!!) which shattered and sliced one of his back feet quite badly. He then made it far worse by chewing the injury, and before I managed to subdue him, the toes were horribly shredded.
It was an awful experience, but I can at least report excellent service by the Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital on 3 Cobbetts Pond Road, Windham, NH.
They admitted that they had never performed surgery on Sugar Glider before; nevertheless, they managed to salvage at least half of the foot and the thumb that he is yet still able to use. I was able to leave him in their care for the first few days, which was to my relief, as I felt more comfortable having him watched by doctors during the initial stages of recovery.
Not only did they do a brilliant job on my baby boy, the employees were also very friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I definitely recommend them for pet emergencies!

(Cable when he was sentenced to about a week of enduring the cone of shame)

Cheers, fellow residents of the New 'Shire.

Okay, I'm going to roll call.
Hello, my name is Kristy and I just adopted a glider about 2 weeks ago. We live in Manchester

He is a 2 year old glider and we've named him Strider.
I've been reading and taking in all the info I can on this site.
Luckily he seems to be a very well mannered glider and things are going well.

Re: NEW HAMPSHIRE - 06/02/16 01:02 PM

Hello all.....

We are in Canterbury and have 3 gliders (we lovingly call them sugar boogies) who just turned 1 year last month.

We are relatively new glider owners, just bringing Kiwi, Gizmo and Yoda into our family last year, and can see why people end up with multiples. They are "so freakn cute" as my boyfriend says daily

We got our babies from Granite State Gliders and they couldn't have been more wonderful and helpful. We visited them every week until they were ready to go home and Tina was great, and patient with us each time (it was hard to leave the little buggers so we would drag out the visit..ha).
