Hi,
We are in northern Virginia (or central depending on who you ask) in Caroline County. We are small scale breeder of Sugar Gliders and Chinchillas at the moment. We'll be expanding to other exotics we've had interests in and hope to bring them to this community soon.

I'm a new sugar glider owner and I'm in Hampton. My two are a boy (about 1 yr old) and a girl (about 7/8 mths old).
Has anyone ever visited the Grafton Animal Hospital in Yorktown. They list sugar gliders on their website and I know their groomer is fantastic with nervous dogs, or at least they were about 5 yrs ago. :-)

Re: VIRGINIA - PART 2 - 03/28/10 02:35 PM
Hi there! Thanks! You do the same!
Hello Virginia!
I could really use ur help. I have a customer that lives in Rixeyville VA that desperately needs a glider knowledgeable vet. She has a couple girls that really need to get in the vet like now.
She said there was one 30 mins from her by the name of Dr Cook, 540-672-1600. I tried calling yesterday to drill them with questions to see if they know what they are doing because she is a new owner.
She needs all the help she can get because a couple different people told her that if they stink to give them a bath
I already told her to never do that again.
PLEASE if anyone can help with a vet, PM me so I can get her the info.
Posted By: DCMuffin
Re: VIRGINIA - PART 2 - 04/22/10 01:02 PM
Hmmmm, I have no idea where that is. Have to google it first. I have the most wonderful vet and it's possible he may know of someone we could refer her to??
Posted By: DCMuffin
Re: VIRGINIA - PART 2 - 04/22/10 01:05 PM
Oh my....that's a LONG way from here, out in the boonies somewhere! No wonder I'd never heard of it. I'm thinking my vet might not be any help on this one but I suppose it's worth a shot. Stahl Exotics in Fairfax, VA. 703-281-3750.
gave her the info, thanks Aimee
Posted By: DCMuffin
Re: VIRGINIA - PART 2 - 04/22/10 07:11 PM
Of course, wish there was more I could do!
Aimee, u sure that vet knows how to treat gliders correctly??
From what she told me about her gliders, they need to be checked & tested but when she called she told me that the vet said they seem fine & I don't feel they seem fine which bothers me about those poor babies possibly suffering.
and they told her that crickets are good to feed and I disagree with that with the aflatoxin issue with crickets.
Posted By: DCMuffin
Re: VIRGINIA - PART 2 - 04/23/10 02:28 PM
Are you asking if Stahl knows how to treat gliders? If so, yes, very much so! Dr. Stahl, specifically, has had gliders before and does the majority of the glider treatments there. I'm pleased with them and they were highly recommended!
