Bra training issues

Bra training issues - 01/15/08 05:14 PM

So I've been trying to do bra training with my little Satu since i got him. Well it worked fine in the beginning of the first week. Now he crawls out and sits on my stomach after sleeping a while. I thought maybe it was because my bra's were to tight. But I've been reading that they like snuggling up in tight places...could it be because he's to hot? I wrap him in his little fleece blanket and tuck him in. Anyone got any ideas? Im not using a sports bra just diff regular bra's some clip in the front some in the back.

I have found that mine will go and stay in a lot better if it isn't so snug. I also do not wrap him up, I just put him in there.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/15/08 05:25 PM

I use a sports bra cause I feel like there's less chance of the gliders falling out! But if I'm sitting down for a while sometimes mine will come out and sit on my chest above the bra. There's three of them in there so I figured they do get a little warm from time to time between all of them and my body heat. dunno But if I'm up doing stuff nobody ever comes out. Have you ever tried it without the blanket to see if that makes a difference?

I have a question...how do you keep from smooshing them? i want my new babies to be bra babies but i have a 3yr old whom i sometimes have to pick up and carry...im sooooo scared of smooshing them.

I was wondering the same thing..:)

Re: Bra training issues - 01/15/08 08:02 PM

Nah. I just make extra sure I remember he's in there and don't press against my chest or anything like that. I haven't tried it withouth the blanket. I'll give it a shot. It has his scent on it so I thought it would make him more comfortable. And he does like to snuggle up in it. This morning i tucked him in and he decided he wanted to groom my chest! Our first groom! How excitingly painful. lol smile

Re: Bra training issues - 01/15/08 08:09 PM

Also I work for a credit union so I have to dress proffesional every day and i go to school a few nights a week now. And I want him to be hidden. So its hard to wear certain things. I need to get some pics posted of him!

Re: Bra training issues - 01/15/08 08:20 PM

I work in an office setting so I have to keep mine "hidden" too, like you. I just went and got a bunch of tanks with the shelf bra's in them. Hubby has ONE FIRM rule in regards to the suggies and that is that from my shoulders to my belly button is his - no suggies on my bare ladies! So I sewed around the shirt just above the elastic that's under the shelf area. After I've sewn all around I cut the top layer and second layer apart at the top of the shirt in front - so there's alittle pocket there. Does that make sense? THis gives lots of room and it's really easy to wear under whatever you're wearing. HTH - good luck wink

Re: Bra training issues - 01/15/08 11:28 PM

That sounds intresting? Got any pics? I'm not quite sure I understand. but basically what i'm getting is that you add an extra layer to the top and cut a whole for the babies? lol. bummer. My bf gets a little jealous his ladies are always occupied now. As my personal little alarm system seems to get very upset anytime anyone gets to close! laugh

Re: Bra training issues - 01/16/08 03:19 PM

Lol TokyoK, that's the same for my boyfriend. Whenever I'm around him he always asks if I have my gliders on me because he's a little afraid of them. roflmao Haven't squished them yet though, I think you'll be safe with yours. I thought I'd have issues with seatbelts, but as long as they're not too taught across your chest, they don't seem to mind. And I keep mine in a bra pouch because I tried just putting them in my bra and they kept sliding down until they'd be on my stomach, lol.
Hey Brittney, I'd love to see a pic of that shirt or a longer description, I'd like to try it!

Re: Bra training issues - 01/16/08 06:30 PM

Ok, I put on a sports bra and put lilly in there with a fleece square this morning. She seems to like it there, she is so darn cute, every time I check on her by lifting my shirt out I see her little face peeking out of the bra at me! I do have a question. After having my sons male get so sick and have his front hands paralized with the new toys in his caged I am a little nervous about doing laudry and such with her right here. What about spraying things like "shout" and stuff on your laundry to pretreat while having them in your bra? What if they take in the fumes? I am afraid it will make her sick.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/16/08 08:01 PM

Does anybody else worry about these kind of things or is it just me? Do you think they are protected since they are inside your shirt?

Re: Bra training issues - 01/16/08 08:33 PM

ok.....Guess it is just me.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/16/08 08:52 PM

I think they would be fine. I mean as long as your not spraying it on yourself. they are inside

Re: Bra training issues - 01/16/08 08:58 PM

LOL...No I am not spraying it on myself!

You'll have to try it and see, but I know I was trying to hold my niece with my gliders in my bra and it didn't work very well. You also will have to be careful about your 3 year old accidentally hitting or smooshing them. I don't have kids so I can't give any "real-life" experience with this, sorry.

Be very careful with gliders in your bra while in the car. Even if the seatbelt doesn't seem tight on them, if you were to get into an accident or even make a hard, quick stop the seatbelt could tighten quickly and cause injury to the gliders. worried

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 02:02 AM

That is a good point. So what would you suggest for traveling in the car? What do you do?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 03:30 AM

I keep Lilly in her bonding pouch while out and about. I feel that keeps her safe.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 02:55 PM

Whether its law or not, I generally don't wear a seatbelt. But when I do I put Chester in his pouch which is lower to my stomach and not being squished by the seatbelt.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 05:54 PM

I usually wear a regular bra and a sports bra on top - that gives a little nook between my girls that is perfect for a little fur-butt or two. Not more than two though...I'm working with what I got, and it ain't much. tounge

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 06:21 PM

Well I'm going to continue wearing a seatbelt no matter what, I've seen what can happen when you don't...be careful TokyoK...maybe I'll just wear the lap part and not the across the chest strap when I've got the suggies in their bra pouch though, that way we're both pretty much safe.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 09:44 PM

Thanks for the concern. smile I definitely do not want to promote not wearing a seatbelt. I've been in several bad accidents with and without one. But the lap part sounds good to me. Any one have any suggestions with diareah? I'm going to run a thread in the health section. Pm me.

Oh, don't just wear the lap belt! My pastor was almost cut in half by a lap belt. That's why they no longer just have lap belts in the back.

I figure the gliders are safer if I stay alive in the car, then not. I usually have them in their pouch and the straps are under the shoulder belt, but the pouch is not. If they are in my bra, I put the shoulder part under my 'ladies' and risk broken ribs. (You can get inexpensive clips that will hold the shoulder belt in place.)

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 10:38 PM

I was reading about the issue with the seatbelt and thought I might chime in with a suggestion. You can buy these little seatbelt clamp things that will make the belt cross your chest either lower or higher than they normally would. They are made for children or short folks I suppose...but anyway, maybe that would work.

Take a look at that...it could work. clap

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 10:43 PM

Thats a good idea Angel! I don't like seatbelts period due to an accident I was in. I had it on and was hit head on and the seatbelt cut into my chest and suffocated me and now i'm just alittle uncomfortable when I have to put one on.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 10:57 PM

Well, I don't wear my seatbelt most of the time but I am trying to get better about it. I can totally understand the way you feel, I think that would have affected me the same way. Atleast with that thing it will ride lower and further over on your shoulder and maybe that will help.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 11:03 PM

I think it would too, plus its not too expensive either. Oh, yea, not to get off subject but when you get a chance Angel, I know I want to see some pics of your precious boys!!

Re: Bra training issues - 01/18/08 11:12 PM

If you get one let me know how it works for you...I hope it does!
I am going to get some pictures up ASAP! I was trying to get pix last night and couldn't keep their little fur butts still long enough to get a good shot.lol I had them out in the living room and they were doing the "critter crack 500" across the back of the couch! dance They are so funny when I let them out there...they play a odd game of chase/tag/hide n seek with eachother! They are good boys though, they never get far away from me and frequently poke their heads over the cushion to check in with me and make sure I'm there. My guys are twins and could NOT be more different though...Jinx is the little "gentleman" and Mojo is pushy and rude (but still sweet of course! hug2 ) Anyway, I will get some pix up soon. Since I am new to this..where do I put them???

Re: Bra training issues - 01/19/08 12:24 AM

Photobucket is easy.

I do the regular bra with the sports bra over it. It makes a great pouch.

LOL my 4 year old pats me gently and askes if the sugar gliders are in my shirt.

Re: Bra training issues - 01/19/08 02:11 PM

Thats a good idea. Question for other suggie in their bra owners.....do any of you have a glider that REFUSES to get out? Wyatt loves going in, but man getting him out is NOT EASY! Does anyone do two sports bras with the glider in the middle? Wyatt holds onto my skin when I try to take him out! lol OUCH!!!! I love wearing him, but it has become very painful now that he is a bigger boy!

Re: Bra training issues - 01/21/08 08:54 PM

Just wanted to give an update. I rummeged through my dresser and found a shirt with the elastic built in bra. i'm still wearing a bra with it. But he seems to like that alot better. Not crawling all over the place smile

Re: Bra training issues - 01/21/08 09:08 PM

pappy, that's funny roflmao

I can't offer any bra training expertise. I never bra trained mine because I was worried if they were in my bra against my skin scratching me and such I'd be more likely to develop allergies to them (I have bad allergies to many types of animals and was petrified I would develop allergies to gliders).

Plus I think my boyfriend is glad I don't carry them in my bra roflmao It's already funny enough that when he comes home and is about to hug me, he has to check to see if I'm wearing the bonding pouch to make sure he doesn't squish any gliders. He always looks grouchy if I don't want to snuggle up with him because I'm afraid of squishing gliders roflmao Doesn't it seem like a topic that could be on some weird talk show? "My Girlfriend's Gliders are Ruining our Relationship!" Haha. Luckily, he has glideritis now too.

Haha! Thats great! Oh my Chester got out of my undershirt and pottied inbetween the shirt and undershirt frown gross. I thought they wouldn't go where they slept? Is it bc he's young? Apparently he also went in there. I mean I knew i would get eliminated on going into this but now i have a big spot on my shirt and I'm at work!

I am new to the sugar glider world..I have a question about the bra thing...Why would you want them in your bra? dunno Wouldn't you think people will think your weird having an animal that close to your boobs? lol Just a question, not judging and not saying I would never do it...I am just curious how someone came to this idea to do this?

I love having all 3 of mine in my bra. I can feel them breathing and I like having them close to my heart.
Honestly I don't care what people think, although I tend to wear baggier shirts or sweatshirt when they are in there just to avoid the staring at my chest ! tounge

Re: Bra training issues - 01/22/08 03:51 AM

Ok..I'm rather flat chested... I mean I have a little bit roflmao but normally I don't wear a bra at all. The only bra I do have is a wonder bra. I'm trying to picture a glider in the bra..wouldn't a sports bra be too tight? Or do you get maybe the next size up to accomodate?

LOL Im just a little envious by all the "have's" being able to carry their babies in their bras, while the "have nots" can't... ohwell

Re: Bra training issues - 01/22/08 04:07 AM

lol im a guy and have two gliders and they love to get under my shirt and just hang out, they dont go in the bra area they just go and curl up just on the back of my shoulder area and go to sleep, in fact that is where Sadie is right now smile

(edit) and now Sydnie

I'll do the same thing, and sometimes they have also started to crab and it is so funny when people start looking around with funny looks on their faces trying to figure out what that noise was and where it is coming from roflmao

Re: Bra training issues - 01/22/08 06:06 PM

I am right there with you buttercup. I can offer one suggestion. I wear my bra then I put on one of those tank tops with the built in bra on. That is the only way my girls will go in. They like me to have my bra on so that my "ladies" are in place blush (sorry mods, I hope I am keeping this G rated still!)

Splah, I don't know what it is but I agree with everyone else who owns a bra baby. While it is weird, it is the coolest feeling in the world. I love my Sugar to be that close to me. Plus, once you get them in there, there is nothing like looking down at their peaceful sleeping faces. It just melts your heart! mlove

Pappy, I can totally understand where you are coming from. If I put Spice in there (which isn't very often, she usually doesn't let me) she is in there until SHE is ready to come out. She will crab till no extent if I try to get her out. Sugar also does the ripping skin off thing when I try and get her out. It's like she is saying NO! I am like so warm right now!

Re: Bra training issues - 01/22/08 09:41 PM

I can understand..I just worry about them peeing and pooping also..I promised my co-worker I would bring them to work...but in a pouch..I have not advanced to the bra state. lol..I am just too scared to take them anywhere yet...plus I have only had them a week, and they are not used to me yet.

Re: Bra training issues - 02/18/08 11:39 AM

I'm looking into getting a pair of suggies with my boyfriend and I would love for them to be bra babies. Would that deter from my boyfriend carrying them around in a bonding pouch if he has them?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Bra training issues - 02/18/08 12:07 PM

No- it wouldn't deter them from your boyfriend. My husband carries them around every blue moon in his shirt pocket. Mine go in the bra every now and then, but not regularly as it wouldn't be very good for them with my work. I use the cami top too with the built in shelf bra over a regular bra. That gives them plenty of room. Only once did I get pee and poop in my shirt.

Jen- Can't you just hear Dr. Phil now and see that look on his face!!??
