I was just wondering if my gliders would like a mirror in their cage? Would it be a fun <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/clown.gif" alt="" /> benefit or would it make them crazy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />, scared <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crying.gif" alt="" /> or even angry <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tantrum.gif" alt="" />?

No sharp edges of course.

If anyone has tried this, I would love your input.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming
WOOOO HOOOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!

I had my cage near a mirror once and it was not a good thing for my gliders, They became a little aggressive, and i think it was because they thought other gliders were around.

My thought wasn't to trick them, it was more like another thing to keep them busy at night. Like another toy or busy time item in the cage.

Ziggy's owner kept one in his cage, and I left it in there. He doesn't seem to notice it much. But it's a little one, so I don't know. ;x

Ours have those bird toys that "snap" onto the cage wires and also have little safety mirrors on them. Our kids play with the toys (they spin) and the mirrors don't bother them..just get a lot of glider snot on em! hehe

I put one of the funhouse mirrors in the cage with Ricky after we lost Lucy.I put it next to one of his branches. That night I found him frozen just staring at his self!!I thought he was scared but when I took it out he searched for it,so I put it back in..and he went straight to it,giving it sugars!! When he is running and passes it,the doubletakes are so funny!! I think it helped him a little with the loss....He loves it!!!

Diddle has a full size mirror behind her cage and she doesn't even notice it.

Forgot to tell you when I had AM in the bathroom with me. He saw his reflection in the mirror and jumped for it. He went splat on the mirror. Wish you could of seen the look on his face. Only thing that got hurt was his pride.

It is a mirror that goes on a Barbie toy.The same kind of mirror that is on bird toys...IT distorts the image making funny reflections back at them..

Whenever Ringo gets away from me in the living room, he goes STRAIGHT for the lamp. It's got reflective brass on it, and he goes crazy staring at it. It's quite funny. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Mine try to pass monkies to the shadow in the mirror. So we use it during tent time cuz its just to cute....Ipso will bark at it and wonder why it is barking back at him. He loves the mirror. Stitch tries to make friends but cant understand why it gives her monkies back to her.lol
I would say it all depends on the glider and the way they behave with one. Imagine Stitchs surprise when the mirror wasnt in the cage and a friend was next door in a cage. A real life friend. It was love at first site between her and Ipso. SO I think the mirror helped her out too.
Have fun with your mirrors everyone I will get pics soon of my crazies and the monkies.
