I've seen where some use magnets on their cages and was wondering if it is safe if the glider licks or plays with a magnet? some toys have magnets in them also. Thanks!

Just curious, but what are they used for on the cages? and toys? I've never seen magnets on any cage or toys... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />

Becci, I don't think that the magnatism would hurt the glider, but it probably wouldn't be that healthy for them to be licking the metal. So if you do use magnets I would make sure that no metal is showing or accessable to the gliders.

A lot of times the magnets have little tiny shards of metal magnetized to them that you might not notice.

Another thing- I'd be worried that if they were able to unstick the magnet and move it around that it might snap back to the bars (or whatever its stuck to) and pinch their little fingers...

Magnets?

Why?

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming

well.. there was a post on here about using magnets to hold down fleece liners on the bottom of the cage. I also have a kids fishing pole that comes with little pond fishes that go around.. my little guy *loves* the little fishes and the pole. But there are magnets on it. My granddaughter and I were playing the game in the tent and JayHana decided that was way too much fun. Just wondering if safe or if I should take it away, yes he does put it in his mouth when he grabs the fish or the weight part of the fishing rod then climbs up the string and the pole.

I think that I would be more worried about the string if you leave it hanging in the cage.
That does sound like fun though. LOL
