Mine loves country down low they hear way better then we do so don,t point it at them.
I thinks it helps mine from being scared of every noise it hears may even relax her.
as for rock and stuff i wouldnt know how they responed.

I have a separate room for my gliders and have a desk & a radio in there. I am in there alot during the day and have the music on with no ill effect on any of the gliders. I don't blast it, but I do like to crank it up & sing along! roflmao They don't seem to mind at all!

Thanks for the advice, i assumed anything to loud or rough would scare them so i planned on keeping it down to minimal volume lol

YES! They love music. We raised our boys on instrumentals, day and night, in the house, in the car. We noticed that it has an enormous calming effect on them.

As our gliders go with us everywhere we go and having the same music playing where we/they were, helped a lot during the bonding process. They feel safe and secure because they can associate with what they know.

On a lighter note, we are now at the stage where we listen to the glider's favourite music at night and our favourite music in the day.

I would highly recommend that you have soft playing music around them at all times.

See post Calming Methods under bonding and Relations.

Mine have been raised with the TV on pretty much since day one. I sleep with it on (during the week the timer gets set) but on the weekends and all during the day while i'm at work, the tv is left on for them. It seems like now, during the day on the weekends when i'm home ... if the tv gets turned off for whatever reason ... they will start barking at me ~ when i turn it back on, the barking stops. dunno ... I guess they like it ~ lol.

I always have music going during playtime when the guys are in my room. Once, I think it was Meeko, was under my bed and started barking along with one of the songs. When the song was over he stopped. I guess he just felt like singing.

Lots of animals do that! It's cute. I used to have a parakeet who sang to punk rock songs but didn't like rap! (:

my uncle hada parrot that loved romance movies, disney cartoons me and his ex girfriends daughter were picking one night and she told me that he hates Jaws movies (keep in mind he was placed in the same room where we played, had girl talk and watched movies) I didn't believe her and she was like "you don't believe me? Watch this five seconds into the move where the woman gets in the ocan and jaws attacks her and starts swimming around in circles with her leg in his mouth fred started flapping his wing and squawking somthing
horrible when finally had enough of his big mouth we stopped the movie and ejected it and he stopped..... it was
so funny!!

Mine love music and the Disney channel (cartoons) or any cartoon (non-violent). Call me weird but I don't let them "watch" anything on the t.v that is loud or violent. The kids in the living room love to watch the cartoons via the side of their cages or sitting on my shoulder!

They love music too, not loud though.

I also have a Rainforest sound machine that I turn on at times...they LOVE that!!! They chirp and chatter constantly when it's on!
