I use a sports bra and there is a gap betwen my breasts and soem space under them and they dive down int here and their tails come out where my cleavage is if I don't pull the breasts to the sides in the bra...

But mostly we use zippered bonding pouches if we are leaving the house because I'm afraid of someone waking up and getting out.. they mostly just ride along and sleep in the pouches I make where they are held top and bottom to our bodies.. DH and I both carry our babies in them and they love them.. he wears them to work sometimes even.. I don't do that...

I ride, too ... err, used to ... i guess i'm on hold til i get out of university. no time or money!! anyway, I'm not sure that i'd want to get them too near a horse. even what seems like a tiny tiny bump from a horse could inflict major damage to a glider. like if they rub their face on you, or swing their head to look at something and happen to hit you. something that doesn't even really hurt a person could squish a glider pretty easily, i imagine. I'd be worried about working with the horse on the ground more than riding (though falling off is a possibility, it doesn't usually happen too often.) gliders + horses = too scary a combo for me!

I came home with my babies today.... (ended up getting a pair that was ready from the same person instead of waiting 8 weeks) I took them out just to take a peek at her house and they were WILD... I was afraid I would lose one. I want to start putting them in my bra, but when? As fast and crazy as they were I dont think they would stay.

How do you start? All the info I read said to let them adjust for a few days first... then what? I didnt know they would be so quick!!

Welcome "momofthree"
Well, I put my little one in my bra the day I brought him home! He actually loves it there! Put a shelf bra on and when he is asleep put him in there pet him and he should quite right down. When I zip my sweatshirt up so he can't get in there...he bites the zipper and gets mad! It is too funny!! After a while of letting them sleep in your bra it becomes home to them.

Momofthree have your been handled alot? that might be why they were so wild??? I didn't let my glider play off of my body for 3 weeks after I got him. I thinks I am the safe place now. I play with him in one small room in the house but it is more of a challenge of when I put him down somewhere how fast can him find me.

They were not handled much at all. They are only 8 weeks OOP. Last night/this morning was good. They licked applesauce off my finger and climbed all over my hand. (while in their cage)

Today is day three, so I am going to start carring the pouch all day. I ordered a bra pouch, but for now I will just attatch thier cage pouch to me!!

They are so sweet, I am so in love!!

I would suggest keeping your bonding pouch under your shirt too...I did that at first too...cause it was very cold outside. The breeder that I got mine from handled there babies alot. I don't know how cause they had a ton of them! It won't take long if you handle them and carry them alot. The bra pouch would be great too!

I tried all day to get my guy in the shelf bra yesterday due to this thread and he would not do it. so I stuck my shirt on the cage last night at bedtime and this morning it was all pulled into the cage, I didn't check his sleeping pouch, and proceeded to pull my shirt back up only to be crabbed at because guess where the bugger is....... YUP in the shirt! 8-) brat!

So now I can't get him out of there to wear today :-(

So how do you get the SG from pouch to bra??? I tried tipping pouch into shirt, no luck, he sat there andhelp on with his claws and did the same thing when I tried to scoop him out and get him in. He sniffed around the boobs for a minute and then crawled up back into the pouch like uh uh, I am NOT going in there! LOL

Now what? *SIGH*

Well today is 'Snickers' first day at the office and she isn't all that happy about it...I just gave her a small piece of grape and she is CRABBY!!! I hope it goes better from today on, I feel somewhat bad, for not leaving her home... But she is really cage protective so I am trying to cure that.. Any thoughts? anyone ??

Awww... poor thing!! I hope she settles down!
I was thinking about it today, and when we have another baby I'll be carrying the baby in sling, and the gliders in pouches (whenever it's safe of course). I'll be a walking zoo!!

Kaire,
I didn't have the pleasure of baby wearing with my first babies, because they are twins. I know now that I could have used a double sling, but I had first time mommy cluelessness!! I can't wait for our next baby, and some sling time!!

I have an 12 month old son but he is very jealous of our new gliders. Whenever I have the pouch on he wants to pull at it and grab it. He is not gental with it at all. When I sit next to their cage to talk to them, he cries, or bangs on the cage to get my attention. He is used to having my undivded attention and it is making it hard for me to bond with the gliders. (only had them a few days)

I know he is a baby and I completely understand why he is acting this way, I am just not sure how to give my all to all of them.

I am staying up WAY late at night to spend time with the gliders after he goes to bed, but I am wearing myself down.

Any suggestions?

At that age you need to redirect him. Make sure you are giving him special solo time, and also introducing him to the gliders while they are in his cage. If he acts up, take him into another room (or on a step), for 1 minute time out. Come back, tell him "Gentle. Be nice." and try to show him that they are our friends, and we have to be nice. (If he acts up, go back to time out, and start over.) Sit with him, talking, singing, or reading to him, and move closer a little at a time. Once you are right by the cage, point to the gliders, and sing or read to them, with him on your lap. Get him used to them, and make him understand you can all share mommy's time, before taking them out in their pouch for bonding, then make him part of the bonding experience (under your control of course). (I don't have glider experience yet, but jealous toddlers I know well!!!)

Kaire,
How old is your SG? I just scoop mine up and take his claws and unhook them if he is hanging on to something and put him in my bra. Maybe his nails need trimmed...that will help too. Does he crab at you when you try to hold him?
I guess I didn't realize how lucky I was that Elvis loves bra time! If I put him on me anywear else he runs right up my shirt and down into my bra. Even bit my zipper on my sweatshirt cause he couldn't get in LOL...he was mad!

I carry Boo & Bailey in a bonding pouch where ever I go...They love going places with me, I think that it makes them feel secure...At home they like to lay on my bed in a receiving blanket...But Boo loves to get under the covers in the bed..I use the receiving blankets alot...That is how I got Bailey to bond with me...By carrying him around like a baby...The both love the attention

Try taking a small pouch for them to sleep in, that is easily transfered to your shirt from the cage. That way there isn't the extra handling and they are comfortable in their pouch, eventually they will be more comfortable on your person. I just tuck my pouch, baby and all right into my shirt. I have 3 pouches in my cage for 1, and by now, he knows that he gets to come with mommy in a certain pouch. So he'll only go to that certain one when I wake up so he gets to come to work! It's also a safe way to make sure if they want to come out, they're already in a pouch. Generally they will settle right back down once disturbed.

momofthree,
I carry smokey around with me all day to bond with him, when i am carrying my daughter i will move the pouch to my other side or towards my back so she really doesnt notice its there or try and grab it. When she does she is then she is more curious as the what he is doing in the pouch so she tries to look in it but not grab it, but he crabs at her and she leaves him alone.
I bond with him like i said by carrying him all day in his pouch, then when my daughter takes her naps i take him out and play with him for a bit until he crawls back in his pouch and is done playing, then when she goes to bed at 9pm i start playing with him until he either gets tired of hungry then i put him up and i go to bed.

I tried waking them around 9:30 last night for tent time, but they were grumpy!!

my lil molly soon ditched any pretense of pouch during the day and lives in my shirt pretty much. sometimes she sleeps in my bra, but her fave is pulling her lil blanket to my back and sleeping at the bottom of my tucked in shirt there. when she's sleepy no matter how many times you pull her out she leaps back to me and zoooom right back in the shirt. I may be spoiling her umm a LOT but sure did make us bonded very quickly. gl

I wear a tank top with the built in bra over my regular bra, and that makes a nice pocket in between for my suggies. I don't have room in my regular bra for them!! Also, I ordered a couple of sports bras from Lane Bryant two sizes larger than I wear and with that over my bra -- another nice pocket. The larger size also helps me get it off at night. With my right size, I feel like a contortionist trying to get out of the blasted thing -- not to mention practically strangling myself in the process!!! My babies love the bra pockets. I also have bra pouches that attach to my bra straps, but depending on what you're wearing -- you have a square on your chest!! With loose shirts, it's no problem at all. Sometimes I have to wear the bra pouch -- when we're traveling and we'll be on the road after dark. That's when they are bound and determined to come out!!! Good luck and have fun with your suggies.

its fine to just carry them around at home. you dont have to take them everywhere, it just makes the bond stronger. it isnt nessicary.
