Sounds like you've got everything right. He's not too old to bond just the older they are usually the harder it is to bond with them, but every suggie is different. I would keep doing what you are doing with the 'scenting' You could also take a couple pieces of fleece and put them in your bra then put them in a ziplock bag. Everyday put a new piece of fleece in his pouch. It will take time. And this is what you chose to go into. You have to be a patient person. Soon he will learn to love and trust you. Also, remember to do tent time with him. That helps with the 'bonding process'. Good Luck

They are NEVER too old to bond with. NEVER. Two of my most strongly bonded gliders came to me at 4-5 years of age.

They are NEVER too old to bond with. NEVER. My thought exactly!! Some of my rescues have been slower to trust than an 'average' joey but I also have a few that literally seemed starved for affection and it literally took less than a day for one in particular to become one of the biggest little lovers I've got. He came in a quad in a tiny cage and his mate had a horrible wound. Got them home and took him out to separate them all-he was an unneutered dad and his 5 month oop female joey was also in the same cage-and he immediately ran up my arm and started aggressively marking me as his. The 5 months oop female had NEVER been handled so she was another story but with a lot of patience, neosporin and bandaids she has made a complete turn around-not overnight though-they have been here a lil over a year now. They are each as different as we are. Would it be possible for you to visit and handle the glider any before you bring it home w/you? I believe it makes the transition easier on the glider the more interaction you can have in their current environment before bringing them to yours.
