Hang in there...you are doing a great job! I agree with Suz about flushing. Ask the vet about it.

Karin give Vu a treat for me and tell him we are all thinking of him daily. We are also thinking of you and know your fears of going though this. You are doing wonderful and soon Vu will be all healed.

Many Hugs

roflmao I told him...while he is apart from Deja, and in that little hospital cage...he can have his treats. But I also told him....once he's better, we will have to talk wink .

I realize I didn't mention this...the 2nd set of stitches he had ripped out and jacket removed by that evening. So...again we are back to healing w/o stitches but the picture above is one week from the last stitch. I FINALLY managed to get the wound covered with a jacket (only ONE wrap around the body with the vet wrap and one small piece of gorilla tape did it). Jacket is off for a day or two to let some air get in there. I began flushing today....so we will see.

Hey Karin
Haven't been on the boards much. Was looking at the wound. I am a nurse, I think you know that. Anyhow I noticed some people said about flusing the wound with Sterile saline. If that was a human wound, that is exactly what I would be doing. Flushing the wound and then packing is with gauze. When you change the gauze you will be debriding the wound. It will bleed, the bleeding helps with healing. It is called tissue granulation. Ask your vet about irrigating the wound and packing it. Then you could wrap the whole thing with the jacket that you made. Just my two cents. Don't know, but it might work. It just looks like under those stitches the wound is nasty. It can't heal unless it is debrided.
