my glider makes noises right before he pees or poops ive read that it could be a sign of some sort of disease cant remember the name of it but yeah is he just letting me know hes going or should i take him to a vet

What kind of noise is it? If he's hissing while peeing, it could be a UTI. If he's hissing while pooping, he could be constipated.

How long as his been going on for?

I would take him to the vet, just to be sure.

One of my three female gliders has always made noise when she pee's, therefore, I am not concerned since my vet has given her a clean bill of health.

Mine do that sometimes. XD They need more fiber.

i dont think hes straining i just figured hes just a little scared so he makes that noise also how much do you think this would cost to get a check up?

yea 'the loo' is the bathroom. i would get him vet checked. your glider could have a urinary tract infection (UTI) which can get quite serious and sometimes lead to self mutilation. some gliders will attack an area if it is causing them pain, and they can do A LOT of damage VERY fast.
a standard checkup at my vet is $65 with a fecal float and urine check..and if he needs medication it will cost more. however, if it is a UTI and it goes untreated it will cost you more in the long run, and possibly your little guy's life .
sorry i didn't mean to scare you or anything..but i think it is in Jables' best interest to get to a vet as soon as possible, and i thought you should be informed of what COULD happen. i really hope he doesn't have a UTI good luck with your little man

hissing with BOTH peeing and pooping is usually a sign of infection or blockage. It is pretty necessary that he get vet checked and appropriately tested ASAP.

The only way to know if your glider has an infection is to have it seen by a vet. If you even suspect a problem, the glider should be seen by a vet. I, personally, have never taken a video of any of my gliders who are experiencing an infection.

I'm pretty positive that he has this infection but i was wondering even if he has this infection well he still play like normal? or well he be hurt and wont act out as much because he seems to be playing just as much as he usually would. and if he has this infection how much would this medicine cost because im 15 and its kinda hard for me to make money. I didnt think he would be sick only a week into having him so thats why i didnt put a vet fund somewhere.

He could very well be playing normally with a UTI. However, that does NOT mean that he is not in pain. Sugar gliders hide their illnesses until they simply can't anymore - and by then it's often too late.

I don't know how much the medicine will cost, but you need to get him to the vet as soon as you can, even if you have to borrow money. It's not fair to him if you don't.

dont worry i will and its not like im not trying to im doing my best to get him there i just didnt imagine that as soon as i bought him id have to take him to a vet for a illness

I have a lady glider and she's always made a hissing or more like a snorting sound when she poops. . . I don't worry about her she does it every night when she gets ups and she's way healthy.
