I got a hamster ball at Wally World today and let each of my gliders have a "spin" in it. I couldn't figure out if Suki liked it or not. She ran around but seemed confused when she couldn't climb up on anything, but she seemed okay just running around the room. Gabby, on the other hand, tried it for a few minutes then absolutely refused to move when she saw she was trapped inside this little bubble. I thought it was so amusing to see them running around, but maybe I enjoyed it more than they did. Who here has gliders that like hamster balls? Any funny stories?

[:"blue"]Well, there are people who use them but I just want to caution you to never leave your glider unattended in one. It is very easy for them to get a finger or toe caught in the slits in these balls.
If you go to the Gallery to the SGGA 2005 I believe it is on the first page there is a short movie of JoJo in her ball. She belongs to Alice33, a long time member, and she was just about raised in her hamster ball but Alice is always right beside her when she is rolling around. On the other hand, Petunia, her other glider isn't all that fond of the ball so it just depends on the glider. [/]
I let one of my gliders run in a hamster ball one time..but have since neer used it. I could never tell if he actually like running in it...or just couldn't figure out how to get OUT and just kept rolling around After the first use I left it out when he would have time outside of his cage. He got in once, but hopped right back out. So I figured it wasn't a favorite activity.
Plus, like Karem said, I was just too worried about those little feet and nails getting injured in the slits.

My first glider, Pikaboo, did not really dig the hamster ball. I could tell she got bored pretty easily with it and she never really got how to steer it well. My crazy male, Vash, loves it. He has plenty of energy to burn and uses the ball to chase my dogs. He is really good at steering and will do a 90 degree turn on the spot if he is chasing you. Threshholds and scatter rugs are no match for him either. I always block off the area he is running around in, never leave him unsupervised, and keep his nails trimmed so I feel it is safe for him.

I put the hamster ball in Blaze's cage just so he could get used to it and he ended up not liking rolling in it, rather using it as a little nest. LOL He would just sit there and stare at me like, "Hey! Why did you trap me in here?!" As soon as I'd open the top he'd jump right out. It def. made more mess than anything. Imagine chasing around a sugar glider with wet paper towels and a dust pan. LOL... Yup, my b/f really thought that was funny!

Snap likes his ball he chases the cats around. They just kinda jump out of the way and get up high so they can still keep tabs on him, but so he can't crash into them.

LOL Lexi What cute pics!
I used to have one for my hamster, and I quickly got tired of chasing them around with babywipes lol. I about putting a suggie in it though....
