<img border="0" alt="clap" title="" src="graemlins/yelclap.gif" /> Great news Shannon. Hopefully the vet will be able to recommend a way to adjust his diet so that he doesn't need the meds any longer.

My understanding of the meds...it was given because he had chewed on himself. Thus they were to prevent him getting infected in that area. Depends on any more damage as to wither the meds need to go another round.

Main concern that needs to be addressed is how to keep this guy from becoming constipated in the first place. This should be the topic of discussion when you go back to your vet. Wither this be with mineral oil, Laxatone or orange juice. Prevention seems to be the key issue here as he seems to suffer from cronic constipation.

Assuming that he has no sort of infection or any damage, then I would agree no medicine is necessary. There is no reason to give a medicine unless there is a definately problem. Constipation should be easily controlled by a diet change. I do hope that he is doing much better and your vet can give you clear results.

Shannon, I am so sorry to hear such terrible news. This has got to be a horrible time for you and for your little one too.

It would be a long and difficult road to recovery should you elect to have the surgery done.

Oh my gosh...that is terrible. I am so sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what I would do in that situation. On one hand, you don't want him to suffer but on the other hand, you want to try and save him. I think you should do what feels right in your heart and whatever you choose, both you and your glider will know it's the right decision. I'm going to IM you...

I have just spoken with Shannon. He has made the choice to put his little one to sleep.
He did this with input from the vet. And with much love for his little boy.
He is so heart broken right now and is going to spend the next few hours with his glider.

He asked that I post and let you all know. He also said that after the little one crosses the Rainbow Bridge he will post and let us all know.

Shannon is a very stong man. I have spoken with him few times and you cant help but love him when you speak with him.

So he needs our support now. It has been a very hard decison to make and I must say he has done it with all the love a human can have.

Shannon, I am also so very sorry, please take comfort that Mad Mardigan is not in any more pain, and won't have to go thru a difficult and painful recovery. He is waiting for you now on the other side. With many prayers for peace and comfort for you and scorch and many many glider hugs..
