The Mom, Grape has been doing a thing where she makes a repetative ta-ta-ta sound and then goes into spasms, when she does this, the babies in her pouch barely hang on. They are pretty old, have some hair, and I beleive that their jaws have devloped. What does this behaviour mean. She has been doing it four two days and is in good health

Mother's above behavior is to get her in pouch babies to shift to a better position that is more comfortable for her. Otherwords...sort of like saying ....get your foot out of my face.

Sometimes...when the babies are just about ready to come oop. but are still latched...they will come oop. and sleep on her tummy so they are not so cramped for space as when inside of her pouch. When it is time for them to back into her pouch so she can come out of her nest to stretch and eat...she again will make the sort of crab sound and vibrate...to get the babies to crawl back inside her pouch to where they will be protected.

Then once the babies are oop. and dinner time is over....to get the babies to unlatch...so she can go eat without them...she will do this same sound and shimmy like to shake them off the teat.

Nothing to worry about...all of this strange behaivor is her way of communicating to her offspring.
