As usual,I fixed Dottie and Bullwinkle's dinner, and woke them up at around 9:30pm.They never want to eat, only play so I opened their door and let them out.Their is a comforter I put infront of the room's door becuase the crack under it is very large. So,as always,I put it in front and let them crawl around and explore.I was sitting in the chair that I keep close to the door so can make sure that they don't get out or get lost.Dottie came and marked me up,and then went to explore the comforter. There happened to be a little nook in the comforter that led out.So I watched her,and then I seen her little tail disapear. At first,I thought she went behind a dresser that is right by the door, but nope, not there. Then I checked in the comforter just incase if she was still in the room she wouldn't get out if I were to open the door, but not there either. So I then looked out the door and I didn't see her.I figured 'No problem. She must be hiding somewhere in the comforter and I missed her'.So I proceeded looking through it,when I heard a horrible sound. It was the sound of a dog yelping and a glider crabbing and the rest of my family yelling like crazy in the living room.I ran out only to find Dottie partially in Ike's mouth, biting at him.I pulled her off and rushed her back into the room.I checked over her quickly and made sure Bullwinkle hadn't gotten out either. Then I searched her some more.I am yet to find any external injuries on her,Thank God!I know that doesn't mean anything, and I am schedueling a vet appointment tomorrow. She's running around like nothing has happened. She even wanted to play some more .So far,I haven't seen any change in personality since this.It happened at about 9:30-10:00pm today. My parents say Ike was shaking her in his mouth, but I pulled her OFF of him.It looked more like she was attacking him,but I wasn't there to witness it.I am so happy that she is alive!!! .I am also very thankful that our large dog wasn't here.We have a large yellow lab/german shepard mix that they didn't allow us to keep here becuase she was so big.She right now is staying with friends, but I know it could have ended very differently if she was here.I used to have a tent in the room, but it was so big!I am going to get another one becuase I have learned my lesson.I am also going to get door runners just incase something happens again.

I know alot of people have better proofed rooms than I did.I just wanted to post this to inform/warn other owners and hope that they won't end up with a much worst fate than Dottie did.

I'm sorry this reminder came with such a fright. I'm thrilled it had a happy ending, and I'll bet Dottie got lots of treats last night. Hope all continues to go well with her.

Nitro, the 50 pound mutt, has always been obsessed with LaVerne and Shirley. One time I was taking them to the tent while they were asleep in their bag. I put the bag down for a minute and turn to get the crickie bowl. Next thing I knew Nitro was darting from behind me into the save haven tent and had Shirley in her mouth!!!! OMG! She dropped Shirley once and then Shirley tried to climb the tent and got caught again. Then Nitro dropped her and she climbed on me, the tree. We were not so bonded then and it set us back awhile.

It was stupid getting into the tent with the dog around but I never imagined this would happen. We don't use the tent now but the dogs are outside or in the front room before playtime.

And Nitro still licks her lips like she is seeing a treat when she sees the babies so I am extra careful.

Thank you for the advice on the the door.

Mimi
