Thursday evening...
Skadoosh and Ollie enjoyed watermelon this evening. I even saw them both out a little later, and Skadoosh was eating some more.

Her pee has lightened up and I think her poo is improving on size, she had two small turds that appeared to mr to be slightly bigger and a bit softer than previous.

I'm still a bit concerned on her appearance, she still looks scrawny and ragged to me. I've weighed her 3 evenings now, but am not sure of accuracy, being the numbers bounce around a bit and seem to stop at different numbers depending on position of pouch or movement of Skadoosh. She was a bit active this evening during weighing.

I don't think my administering her meds and trying to nurse her back to good health is helping our relationship, I really think she's hating me for it.

She has a follow up appointment Saturday morning, unless dramatic change, I'll wait til then. With her eating CLC and now the grapes, oranges, and watermelon, I feel it's an improvement. Plus it's still possible she's maybe eating a little salad, I haven't seen her though, so can't be sure.

Get a food storage dish with a lid, poke hole in it and weigh her in that instead of the pouch. You will get a more accurate weight.

The vet visit...
Skadoosh had a pretty good follow up. She weighted 108g, Ollie came along for company and they weighed him as well. He weighed 148g.

I'm to continue finishing the meds and monitoring her, I am to bring her back if there is any setbacks for further testing. There was no imperative need to sedate her for more in depth examination and testing at this time.

Last dose of antibiotic...
Skadoosh had her last dose of antibiotic this morning. She already looked a lot better (other than pouch fur, lol). She had a normal sized, softer poo (probably due to the watermelon and grapes she's been eating) during the dosing process.

I didn't offer any watermelon or grape with last nights dinner. But I did place a small dish with two pieces each of avocado and grape halves. No one came out of pouch to eat any, so when Skadoosh's dosing time came I pulled a half a grape out, gave her med, then offered her some avocado. She took it! She ate the rest in the cage, then she went for the grape!

I'll be keeping tabs on her though, especially over the next few days after meds.

I am glad she is doing better. Keep offering foods with high water, grapes, water melon.....

I would also offer her avocado a couple times a week.

They will have watermelon served with dinner for the next few days at least, then maybe skip a day/every other day. I do have more avocado that I froze, I can offer to them a couple of times a week with dinner. I will offer a grape, cut in half in the morning as a bedtime snack.

I also picked up a bag of frozen cut okra to add to their salad for a change.

I picked up a container, poked a bunch of holes in it to use to weigh her, but can't do it until tomorrow evening. I got home too late to get it all together in time for this evening.

Oh yeah, I forgotten mention I also picked up pine nuts for them, they've not had any for a while, figured it would be good time to offer them.

Since they are eating the CLC with watermelon and a few other fruits, it is probably a good idea to introduce some veggies. Once they are eating those, then introduce one of Peggy's salad mixes so they will be getting a true CLC feeding plan.

Dawn, pine nuts are a treat for as long as they last, then it's a while before I get them again.

Karen, I've attempted Peggy's salads. Unfortunately, i can't always get all produce needed, or my gliders don't eat particular ones. I do try to get as close as possible, but enevidibly, there are at least a couple varieties missing due to reasons stated above.

Skadoosh is in the hospital. I had to take her back in today as an emergency. She seemed okay Friday evening, I weighed her and it was down 8 grams from the hospital weight, but I wasn't sure if it was due to being a different scale. Otherwise she seemed fine. She's been skiddish around me since the treatment, I'll see her take some food then run to the back of the cage to eat. I've been sick in bed all day, I heard moving around on and off, didn't think a whole lot, sometimes Ollie gets up for a midday snack. I thought I even heard the wheel for a bit at one time. I finally got up and checked on them and Skadoosh didn't look too good. She was like before, so I called and took her to the vet. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to hear any news.

Just heard from the hospital, Dr called to report that Skadoosh's condition has worsened and they are continuing trying to help her through the night, but wanted to let me know she may not make it.

I had a feeling this was going to be the case, but I wanted to try to save her. I so wish now that I had more tests done on her last time. I was just so glad she was coming along and doing better, I didn't want to subject her to anything when it didn't seem she'd need to be.
