Larry came home from work tonight, and checked in on our boys, and ducky, who is fixed but has always had a bald spot, has a crease across his spot. from the middle to almost the left ear.
skin not broken, it is as if someone cut his hair in a thin straight line.
Larry thinks that because he is getting older, that maybe he is just loosing his hair on top. I told him that was ridiculous.
we have looked around the whole room, since they are free range gliders in their own room, and cannot see anything that would have caused this.
Should he be put in the hospital cage? I know that if there is anything ever wrong with a glider, the others will groom it into a sore.
But they are all fine, they have been together now for so many years that I can't believe one of them did this.
we put him back in the pouch with the others, but will keep an eye and ears open for just in case.

we will send a pic tomorrow.
they are still sleeping in the pouch, and since Larry got him up earlier, he wants to let them wake up on their own.
he is the smallest of the three, and has become the most friendly.

well, it looks like the strip of hair isn't spread across his head now, but his bald spot is alot bigger.
Larry has taken a few pics, & once he figures out how to send them here, he will.

Im curious to see pictures. My Falcore has been over grooming his bald spot for a while now and I'm not sure why. Nothing really has changed. Just seems his messin with it more. I'm wondering if your fella looks similar to mine.

If you want to attach pics without using a photo hosting site you can do so in full reply mode. Then at the bottom of the page in the "post options" area you can click on the file manager link. Here you can attach pics from your device. The images do need to be sized to 448kb or smaller and you can upload 5 at a time. Hope this helps.

Josefine,

It looks like over grooming on your little guy. He is either doing it to himself or one of his buds is doing it for him.

well, we'll just have to keep a better eye on them.
If it gets worse, then he will be put in another room in his own cage, & if it gets worse from then, we will get to a vet, a get a collar on him.

so far, it hasn't gotten any bigger, or deeper.
maybe this is just widening out?
he's the only male we have ever had to still keep his bald spot. it isn't oily, so that is good.

It looks like over grooming to me as well. Glad it isn't getting any worse.

Duckie is looking pretty good. There isn't anymore 'over grooming'. Whatever was developing has stopped.
We don't know what happened, but are very glad that nothing came out of this.
