I'm not sure where to put this, so I'm putting it here since it seems to be housing?
I've tried to be as clean as I can. My gliders don't thrown a ton of food, and I try to wipe down the bars every few days if I see pieces attached. I have a towel under the cage to catch crumbs that I vacuum and hangs out, and I wipe the plastic trays inside every few days when there's a lot of hulls of food and such.

Recently, I found on their food trays a ton of tiny little ants. Figured it was from our food/sink area. Then I do bf their tray yesterday. Their food dish was COVERED in bugs and inside the tray. All along my baseboards. All the way around to the hedgehog cage, where I found a bunch as well. I figured if stemmed from there, and cleaned and vacuumed EVERYTHING. last night didnt see any, but this morning their dish had them on it again. Not as many but a decent amount. I have deduced they are sugar ants, and it's been super rainy and humid in FL lately. They are just gross. I've put dryer sheets kind of around the wheels( I can't reach the back ones so they are kind of laying around them). I also used baby powder, and, far away from the cage so they can't reach, terra pods for them. Is there anything else I can do?!
One a side note, they have started throwing more food. Is there anyway to protect my walls and dresser? There are now spots on my wall but it's plaster so it's not easy to hang things on it.

Sorry for the long post, I'm just very stressed and worried about my babies and trying to curb this. I try to be really clean so this is horrible for me.

I will ponder this... But I do use terro, in my kitchen when the issue arises, I also wipe down trails with vinegar in a sprayer... I am beating (knocking) on wood, because we don't have any yet... There was something else I used...

Messes on walls can be cured by a cage cover or shower curtains placed on the wall. Much easier to clean...

Yes, for wall protection I use a cover along the back and sides of the cage. I really only need back and one side protected (against walls), but I do have stuff on the other side and it looks nicer to have it even. I've tried various types of covers, but what I use now is a twin sz, cotton flat sheet. I wrap it around with the print side in (for aesthetic purposes) and then fold the outside over on the exposed side, so the pattern shows. This is the best pic I could find showing the cage w/cover.

I use plastic clamps/clips to secure, I believe they can be found at Dollar General stores or the like, and also I use some of those plastic butterfly hair clips. I keep an old drop pan on the top of the cage and clip to that, but probably can be clipped to the cage directly with clips.
You can see one of the clips on the bottom right corner, I use these on both sides at the bottom as well.

As for ants, I recommend treating the outside around your house. Ortho Home Defense granules work amazingly well for a few months. I also recommend cleaning the drop pan out daily.

I like the sheet idea!! Right now I'll use the shower curtain (since I just got one on sale at target--"just in case" well here is my case!) but when my sheets get replaced I'll remember this!!!

I try to clean the pans every few days, but I clean the one with their food and thus the ants on it daily now. And have a good scrubbing with a roug sponge to the others. I definitely will start to keep things cleaner. Once the ants are gone, I'll pull it all out, wipe down and get it gussied up to maintain it better.

As for treating the outside I unfortunately can't since I live in an apartment building. However, they do spray for us in the apartments we think so ill have them do that. My gliders have tent time and tub time but nothing in my room and are off the floor so I'll keep them out for a few days after spraying and it hopefully will be fine. It's just so very stressful!!!
