In my quest to see what Kara and Lilo will even attempt to eat, I've tried Kiwi as part of the Critter Love diet. Should I be painstakingly taking out the seeds(which leaves very little of the kiwi left to give them) or is ok to give them pieces of the kiwi minus the skin? I've Googled this and some people keep them in, some take them out. What says you!? :-b

Do not worry about the seeds. They are so very small they make no difference at all.

Hi. I usually take the seeds out. I eat the seeds and give them the green fruit. My vet told me to avoid giving them seeds. I cant remember the reason. I think it does something to their digestion system.

The seeds above are large enough they could cause problems IF the gliders were to eat them. We have also learned over the years that gliders are smarter than we previously gave them credit meaning they generally will not eat items dangerous to their health.

Kiwi seeds are simply just too small to cause any damage. If you are really that concerned and want to take all the time it would take to remove the seeds that is entirely up to you. But kiwi seeds are not ony small, they are soft.

I've been leaving them in since reading your reply. Either way I guess I have nothing to worry about since they still haven't touched them. lol

Yeah, they seem to be picky. They love apples, Pro O's, and their Critter Love Plus mix at night. Most of the salad mix goes to waste. Doesn't look they touch any of it some nights. They like they're Happy Glider and Exotic Nutrition when I leave a very small amount during the day, but they don't eat much of it. They literally are waiting for the Critter Love at night though. They lick some of it up, hop on the wheel, hop off the wheel, get some more, then hop back on the wheel, etc. They sometimes eat some kale, blueberry or raspberry, but the rest of the stuff? Naaahh. :-b

They could be eating more of the salad mix than you know, gliders leave the non soluble fiber behind, so you will see the pea hulls, corn hulls, outsides of the green beans and so on.

Here ya go, read this. Then grab a journal and follow along. You will be surprised at what you learn about your sugar gliders eating cycle.

P.S. made me smile to hear how much they love their Critter Love® grin

I've never fed my gliders springmix. I'll have to try it. They love mango, papaya, apple grapes and a lot of other fruits.
Do you all feed your gliders mealworms? If so, how many do you feed each glider and how often? Live or dried? My gliders have a prefernce for live mealworms.

Kesha - apple seeds should not be fed, they can be toxic to your gliders. You do not need to remove grape seeds. The seeds in a papaya can actually be eaten (they actually have a peppery flavor) and are not dangerous for humans or animals, though you'll likely find that your gliders won't eat them.
