Any re-home I do is to an adult. Sure, the children may be involved and participate in tent time, but they are not the ones who get the gliders, the parents are. I can always tell if the parent is just putting up with my requirement of visiting with their potential gliders just to shut me up. People make it SO obvious. If the kid acts crazy, it is an instant no.
Before anyone takes a glider from my home, they must come and visit with their potential pair, make food and clean the cage and toys
. This is a month long process. I am hard, but I want to know that who takes them, will keep them forever.
Anyone who gets a glider from me (adult of course) signs a notarized contract stating that they will be in contact with me, at least once every six months, with photo updates or a visit. They also must complete a knowledge quiz to let me know they are aware of various hazards, ect.
If at any time they cannot care for the gliders, they come back here, or I arrange a new home for them if they are out of state.
Minors are a huge NO to me.
