What toys have you all made? Lets see pictures. I know there's been threads like this in the past, but I can't locate them, and I'm sure that some of you have made some new, cool things.
I have two:
That was just the simple idea -- since then, the rexlace has been better secured, and the fringe has been trimmed down a lot.
And tonight's very simple toy creation:
Now you.. what have you made?

How is the fleece attached to the hula hoop?? Is it one piece or a bunch of strips to make the fringe?? I need to make more things with my landware plastic...but whenever I try my mind just goes blank. thanks for all the good ideas.
Here is something I made. It's a snow fort made of PVC. I change the fleece for different times of the year. Soon it will become a "haunted house"..

Yes it's one piece of fleece that goes around the hoop and tied together.

I love the "haunted house" although it looks so pure and not "haunted" lolol, I need to make one! It looks great!
Great looking toys everyone! Ive made a "few" things...nothing major or fancy...just things for my crew...I'm not good enough to sell anything LOL...but here's a few. The last one is something I threw together with spare parts...but Renny & Quincy LOVE it.

How cool............ I cant even figure out how to put the toy together we got at the SGGA.Lol Cant beleive MizValorie has not seen this yet, she makes cool toys too and I know she has some pics!
Here are a few of the ones I make. You know, once you make the first one, you become hooked. Your creative juices over flow and you come up with all kinds of ideas! I got started by buying a toy making kit from Shelly (glidernursery) and once I realized I could actually make a toy, it just snowballed from there! Thanks again, Shelly!
Fun Twist (2 1/2' long)
Celebration Time
Fun Twist NOT stretched out & Bowl Over
Braids with bracelets, wiffle balls, dishes and toys
Tic-Tac-Go & Pull
Shaggy Tic-Tac-GO
Tic-Tac-GO (approx 18"x18" prints or 24"x24" solid)
Tic-Tac-Joey (approx 12"x12" prints or 15"x15" colors)
I have zero creative talent or juices in my blood. So, I just rely on all the things that my friends have come up with and sent to me...LOLOLOL Connie's Tic-Tac-Go is one of them and my monkeys LOVE to climb on it in the playroom!!!!!
Gizmogirl, you show off! Dang, I wish I was your suggie!!
Wowie! what a great thread, this should be a special page with the cage pics! I'm gonna bookmark this link, and come back to it when I feel motivated lol (and get some extra cash)
Looks like lots of fun too! I'm sure my daughter would love to make some of these with me! Great(fun) rainy day projects (that don't involve cleaning lol)
Where ever do you get stuff to make these things?? Like the medicine cups for a foraging toy??
Dont knock yourself Kimberlyann...I like that toy a lot...those little baskets are adorable!
And I just use craft lace, or thin strips of fleece.
I find my toy making stuff at birdsnestonline.com but there's a ton of sites that sell them....google bird toy making supplies...then you won't get off your computer LOL

A spool of RexLace is pretty cheap ~ like $2.00 @ Hobby Lobby. It's over with the kids' crafts. It's the plastic lace you use to make keychains.
I'm thinking Liezle may have to be so darn resourceful living in Africia ~ shipping may cost more than the toys she could order from vendors here in the states. There may not be as much to choose from over there either as far as Dollar Stores and such.
Great job!
I've been making my own toys for a few years now but I don't think I have pics on my laptop ~ I'll check.

LOL - Liezl's been praying for a Walmart store here in South Africa for such a long time. Imagine what she could make when she has access to all the things available in a Walmart store!
You all are too kind. And you all have got me motivated to make some new stuff. With the landware net and fleece and some stuff I bought at the store I should be able to come up with something fun for them and it'll be fun for me too.
Wow, great toys everyone! I'm going to be creating some albums on the new FB page I created (Sweet Sugar Gliders) for people to share their toys, cage sets, & glider rooms. I love seeing everyone's creative ideas. I hope some of you will post in there when I get the album started.
I have a few toys we created last year, but haven't put in our store yet because we're still working out a few kinks...
This one is called the Whoopsie Daisy. We like to hide treats in the bottom. We're still working out the best way to secure the barrel to the plate or something to keep it from tipping over. The hot glue doesn't always seem to hold perfectly. The gliders enjoy it though & the flower part wobbles back & forth.
And this one is called Monkey Balloon. I have heard some gliders will try to get inside the ball, so we're saying it's more of a supervision-only toy. But our gliders have had it in their cage for over a year & have never tried to get inside of it, so that's really more of a precaution. Next time we make them, we may use slightly larger chain (to prevent chewing) & a slightly bigger ball, with bigger holes to reduce the safety concern of gliders getting stuck in the holes. I like it because it's a reset toy & we get to hang the monkeys back up for them.
Any of those pics can be clicked on to view a larger image.
How cute Misty!! Love it! When you get the facebook page up let me know!
Thanks Kimberly. The FB page is up. I just don't have the album started yet. I'll try & do that tonight. I can't wait to get everyone sharing in there. You can find us by searching for "Sweet Sugar Gliders".
Those are some awesome things you guys! If you put all your brains together I can only imagine what you would come up with. I really don't have anything to post that's as awesome!!

Thanks, Kimberlyann. It's still not exactly how I want it (the middle cup kind of tilts further downward than I want), but I think the gliders will love it.

These are some that I have made. The first picture is of one I made lastnight. It's a hanging halloween duckie treat dish. The colors go with the candy corn cage set.
The second picture is of a few toys I made for a friend's gliders a couple of years ago.

I would love to know how you make those curly toys! Like what material you use. I've been meaning to make one but don't know what I need to buy. Also, that fleece flower is amazing too.. feel like sharing how you make these?

PVC? I've heard of this stuff but I don't know where to get it. I thought those were just solid straight pipes? Where do you get the cable ?
Here's photos of toys I've made. However, I do not recommend the soft pom poms. They are good for about a week and then you have to buy more. I'd suggest sticking with something solid. Stitch still loved it though I also made the long rope with the shredded strips of fleece attached to the bottom of it. Lilo loves climbing up inside of the shredded section. I plan to make more toys in the future when I'm not so busy with college. I have been focusing more on making cage sets so that I have a couple to swap between each week.

Gizmogirl those are awesome toys! I've made a few no sew pouches and hammocks but I haven't seen any instructions for how to make toys before. I love the how to page on your website! I plan on making all three toys. Do you think you will be adding any more toy making instructions to your website any time soon?

Haha nice. I'm going to the ALL ANIMAL EXPO in Dupage County (IL) tomorrow and then me and my boyfriend are going to go hunting for stuff I think I might steal your idea with the hulahoop foraging toy. That is so awesome!
